Holistic Wellness podcasts, explained
A holistic wellness podcast at its best does something a clinic visit rarely has time for. It lets a person spend an hour on how a body, a history and a set of beliefs fit together, and it lets you listen in. At its worst it hands a microphone to a confident guest and a sales pitch to the host. Both happen in this corner of the Health & Fitness field, sometimes in the same episode, and listeners are arguing about where the line falls. In January 2025, AFP reported on a BBC investigation that found an average of 14 harmful health claims across 15 health episodes of one interview show. In August 2026, a network that had just signed a personal-growth show cited a top-ten ranking for wellness and self-improvement among U.S. weekly podcast listeners. It did so in its own press release.
So the useful question is less whether a show counts as holistic than what its host does with a claim. The shows below differ sharply on that, and on whether something is for sale.
Long conversations that follow the guest
Wellness + Wisdom Podcast, hosted by Josh Trent, leans personal and spiritual. In Weight Loss Expert: Losing Weight Is a Spiritual Process (Disguised as Fitness) - Dan Go, the guest ties food to addiction and identity. He later cites deficiency percentages drawn from his own clients rather than from a study. The show's conversation with Dr. Kayla Osterhoff, The Sacred Science of Women’s Cycle: The 4 Phases of Feminine Power (Dr. Kayla Osterhoff), is more striking for its caution. She describes building a scale to judge whether a given study actually applies to women. In both, the host affirms the guest.
The mindbodygreen Podcast, hosted by Jason Wachob, sits nearer the research end. Richard Davidson argues that flourishing is a trainable skill and that brief practices can be folded into breakfast or a bike ride. In The science of art as medicine | behavioral scientist Daisy Fancourt, Fancourt says hundreds of studies link an hour a week of arts engagement to mental and physical health outcomes. These are researchers describing their own fields, between heavy ad breaks.
When the host runs the clinic
Several shows here are attached to a practice, and that relationship belongs beside every claim. The Whole Body Detox Show is hosted by David DeHaas of Living Waters Wellness Center. Near the end of a May 2026 episode on nitric oxide, he quotes prices for colonics packages. In other episodes, client testimonials run with the caution that results "may not be typical of your experience." A guest in his vitamin C episode asserts that toxins are the only cause of disease, a sweeping claim.
Light Body Radio comes from Dr. Laura May, a functional medicine pharmacist who also offers intuitive healing sessions and invites listeners to book them. In Tiny Pellets, Powerful Healing: Inside the World of Homeopathy with Abby Beale, the guest walks through diluting a remedy to 30C. She says nothing of the material substance remains and frames the effect as energy. Her frankness is worth noting, and worth weighing.
Harmonic Alignment, with Priscilla Coblentz, carries a disclaimer that guests "may have a direct financial benefit to the product or services referenced." Its episode with Dr. Asare Christian, The Hidden Intelligence of Pain: A Cellular Approach to Healing with Dr. Asare Christian, is the most measured of this group. He puts sleep, nutrition and stress management first, discusses peptides, and adds that "what is safe for me may not be safe for you."
Born to Heal: Holistic Healing for Optimal Health comes from Dr. Katie Deming and includes conversations on water fasting. His Cancer Scare Led to a 14-Day Water Fast (Unexpected Results) | EP 143 is a client's account of a rising PSA and a brusque appointment. Near the end, Deming invites listeners to her next three-day water fast. This is personal testimony framed by a program, not trial data. Any decision about fasting with a diagnosis belongs with your own care team.
Stories of living with illness
The Art Of Listening To Your Body, hosted by osteopath Jin Ong, gives guests room. In From Endometriosis to Ovarian Cancer · Jess Eastwood, which runs 102 minutes, the guest describes several turning points:
- weighing chemotherapy when the survival figures differed by one percent
- the numbness in her hands and feet
- the call in which her oncologist told her she was done before round four
Ong frames emotional work as a foundation for whatever treatment a guest chooses. Identity of Health, with Matt Rowe, collects multiple sclerosis stories. In Unlocking Energy Healing with Amber Poole | Identity of Health Podcast, the guest recalls an inner voice telling her to see a neurologist. Accounts like these explain how recovery felt. They cannot tell you whether the same path would help you.
Sound, breath and lighter company
In Sounds Heal Podcast with Tom Kenyon and Natalie Brown, the guest's music is woven between questions. The conversation moves from overtones to the beings Kenyon says taught him, and the work is called an adjunct to medicine rather than a replacement. The Simply Human Podcast is the loosest listen here. Early in #243 Jen Broyles Interview & Rick Takes a Spill, the hosts trade a story about a collapsing shelf of paint cans before the guest turns to nasal breathing and mouth tape. For more on that, try the Stress & Breathwork page. For rest itself, head to the Sleep & Recovery page, and the Wellness guide maps the wider field.

Glossary
Jargon you'll hear on Holistic Wellness podcasts
An approach that treats the whole person — body, mind, and environment — rather than isolated symptoms.
Practices and interventions that shift the autonomic nervous system from a stress state toward rest, digestion, and repair.
The bidirectional relationship between gut microbiome health and hormonal balance, including cortisol, estrogen, and thyroid function.
The upstream driver of a symptom — nutrient deficiency, gut imbalance, chronic stress — rather than the surface presentation.
The primary stress hormone; chronically elevated levels are linked to burnout, hormone imbalance, poor sleep, and immune suppression.
The body's self-regulating capacity to maintain stable internal conditions; holistic frameworks aim to support rather than override it.
