The Simply Human Podcast

The Simply Human Podcast is a long-running wellness show where health advice meets loose, jokey conversation. Mark and Rick build episodes around interviews, but the show rarely moves in a straight line. A segment on breathwork can sit beside a joke about awkward introductions. A discussion of nutrition can drift into books, movies, family habits, or a broken computer. That looseness is part of the identity. The show’s health lens is practical and behavior-focused, with repeated attention to food, movement, sleep, stress, breathing, and the routines that help people take control of their own wellness. Recent guests bring in subjects such as gut health, chronic stress, anxiety, essential oils, nutrition for eyesight, diabetes, exercise habits, and sustainable self-care. The hosts often push against simple explanations. Weight, energy, reflux, stress, and long-term change are treated as more complicated than willpower alone. At the same time, the show favors concrete daily action over passive hope for a miracle solution. Its best moments come when expert language is translated into ordinary decisions: walking more, breathing through the nose, changing a food pattern, adjusting exercise, or looking at emotions as information rather than commands. The register is casual and blunt. It is not a pristine medical lecture. Mark and Rick interrupt themselves, tease each other, wander through pop culture, and let the awkward parts stay in. That can make the pacing messy, but it also makes the wellness material feel lived-in. The show suits listeners who like health conversations with personality, skepticism, and a little chaos around the edges. It is especially fitting for people who want ideas to try in real life without being sold a single perfect system.
