About MELness Mondays

MELness Mondays is a conversational wellness show hosted by Melissa Whedon, known on the show as Mel. The range is broad. Body, mind, diet and spirit are rarely kept in separate boxes, so Theta Healing sits next to keto, hemp law next to prayer, and distant healing next to essential oils. Most of the show is interviews, and the guests tend to be friends. Melissa met Elaine Molloy in 2016 at a Diamond Light Healing class Elaine was teaching in Boston. She first knew Judi Scalley, author of 'Inner Calm Stress Solutions for Busy Women', when she was pregnant and the two were about to work at the same spa in New Hampshire. That shared history gives the talk an easy, trusting warmth. The questions are plain and practical: how did you come to this work, and can you do it on yourself? Guests get space to answer in long, personal stretches. In 'The Theta Healing Technique', Rebecca Duguay explains that she came to energy medicine in 2014, after postpartum depression following her third child. She describes blending Theta Healing with other trainings, and the conversation compares learning a modality to developing your own handwriting. The conversation with Dr. Jen Macones was recorded on a gray Monday in Jersey during the COVID lockdown, when Melissa and her friends were looking for ways to hold each other accountable about eating and drinking. It covers keto, why the body resists any change in eating habits, and swapping wheat flour for almond. The CBD episode works differently. Melissa introduces an earlier recorded call, explains that Young Living was adding CBD products, and flags that some of the information has dated. The call then traces hemp from the 1937 Marijuana Tax Act to the Controlled Substances Act of 1970, which listed it under Schedule I alongside marijuana. The distant healing episode was recorded in March 2020, with Elaine Molloy on the other side of the Atlantic, and it turns to intuition. Melissa describes her own intuition as a subtle knowing, Elaine calls it claircognizance, and the episode ends with an impromptu healing on air. With Judi Scalley, the talk moves to morning reading, meditation, gratitude and asking God for guidance before a difficult conversation. For a first listen, 'The Theta Healing Technique' shows the format most clearly: a friend, a plain opening question and a long, unhurried answer. Throughout, the tone stays curious, reassuring and earnest.

Made for: Suits a listener who is curious about energy work, CBD, keto and faith-based stress relief and wants these subjects explained patiently and in plain language by guests who have room to tell their own stories.

What sets it apart: Many of the guests are people the host already knows, from a 2016 energy class in Boston to a spa in New Hampshire, so the conversations run on shared history. The mix is unusual too: one episode is a history of hemp prohibition, and another ends in an impromptu distant healing on air.
