Most of what plays here is basketball. The Utah Jazz are the deepest vein of listening on this page, and the tone splits by era: two shows are still sorting through the Donovan Mitchell trade and a coach deciding whether to stay, while another does lottery math on an 18-win season. Beside the Jazz sits a block of Utes football built on interviews and fan reaction to Morgan Scalley being in charge, then hockey, Real Salt Lake and high school football. Outside sport the scene is smaller but distinct: a KSL newsroom, a congressional debate, a gun-rights show, the Utah Lake Commission's own podcast, a boarding-school history series and a Salt Lake interview show lately preoccupied with ghosts.

What Utah is

Utah is a Mountain West state of about 3.4 million people, most of them on the Wasatch Front, the corridor from Ogden through Salt Lake City to Provo. The Jazz in two eras

Jazz Notes is the present tense: a 99.4% chance of keeping the draft pick after the NBA's fifth-worst record, an 18-win season treated as a lottery ticket the front office has already modelled, Ben Anderson and David James arguing whether Utah can win more than 1.5 of its final 11 road games. Salt City Hoops Utah Jazz Podcast and Jedi & JERMS are the other end of the cycle: Dan Clayton's show has Mitchell dealt to Cleveland rather than the Knicks, and Jedi & JERMS reads the payroll line by line and puts Quinn Snyder's return at "50, 50" with "a franchise sitting there waiting on a coach to make a decision". The team's own Utah Jazz Podcast Network, through Roundball Roundup with JP Chung, holds the summer-league optimism: Kyle Filipowski and John Tonje after their debuts, Steve Pikiell on Ace Bailey, the crowd when Bailey is announced at Salt Lake Summer League. Locked On Jazz - Daily Podcast On The Utah Jazz, with David Locke, is the widest lens; its clips are conference-wide, Rylan Stiles on Oklahoma City needing Chet Holmgren and Locke arguing contenders need 240 viable rotation minutes under the new CBA, while its titles track Darryn Peterson's summer league and the Walker Kessler offer sheet.

Utes football with Scalley in charge

Two feeds carry the title Utah Utes Interviews, one from Broadway Media, both interview-centric and unscripted. Between them they hold Scalley in his own words: "Titles don't make leaders", RSNB glossed as "no excuses" and "team first mentality", and a recollection of wanting players to see him on the field while rumours about Jay Hill and Jason Beck circulated. Jordan Wynn supplies the sharper football talk, that Utah has not had a 1,000-yard receiver in 13 years and needs an offence that can "take the top off the coverage"; Alex Jensen calls the Runnin' Utes' run "surreal" and describes the crash after the Final Four. Recent titles are postgame interviews after Utah vs Arkansas with Scalley, Jonu Hall, Wayshawn Parker, Elijah Reed and Nate Ritchie.

Utah Man Podcast is the reaction, a panel of invested fans working through the news in real time. Its "In Scalley We Trust" clips treat the presser as a proof of leadership, parse how Scalley took the high road on Kyle Whittingham while the panel does not, and relay Bryson Barnes saying Whittingham had been handcuffing his offensive coordinators on the run-pass balance. From "Utes ready for the holy war", Scott predicts Brandon Rose leading Utah past an undefeated BYU.

Utah Preps Podcast works a level down, rapid-fire and dense with names, schools, offers and measurements: Nick Saban's lecture on "nothing" played and drawn out, Tyron Morris-Edwards naming the three coaches who shaped him, Moose putting Devon Eka at No. 3 in a running-back preview. Its titles are all-state teams and the playoff road to Rice-Eccles.

Hockey, soccer and the stadium money

The most place-specific clip on the page is not about a match. On Wasatch Soccer Sentinel: for Real Salt Lake fans, Salt Lake Tribune reporter Andy Larsen walks through what was slipped into a bill about the Power District at North Temple and Redwood Road, the site pencilled for a Major League Baseball park with $900 million of taxpayer money attached, and argues RSL could become the fallback for that money if the baseball plan falls through. The newsroom, the legislature and the lake

Jeff Caplan's Afternoon News sounds like a fast local newsroom allowed to keep a personality: a number, a location, a consequence, then the next item. One clip window runs from a joke about Bill Gates as a neighbour straight into emergency traffic on southbound I-215's West Belt; others cover Lawrence Parker learning he needed a heart transplant within two years and Caplan arguing TikTok has made people afraid to dance in public. KSL Politics keeps its playable material in "Utah’s 3rd Congressional District Debate": John Curtis on what he would do for women and families if Roe v. Wade fell, Chris Herod warning that election mistrust could produce violence and proposing same-day paper ballots with voter ID. Gun Radio Utah treats the Second Amendment as state politics, tying Utah's 18-to-20 concealed-carry law to the fight over Congress, addressing the state delegates heading to convention, and previewing a May 16 shooting event with 3,000 to 4,000 attendees and 60 vendors.

Utah Lake: Facts, Fiction, Fun is the Utah Lake Commission's own podcast, and the policy detail is real: Brady Brammer on HB 232 tripling ongoing lake funding from roughly $500,000 to $1.5 million and letting a lake authority seek federal grants directly, so that communities "treat the lake as a feature and not a defect of our community"; a $30 million preservation fund drawing just over $60 million in project requests; Jay Ashworth measuring shoreline cleanup by whether his granddaughter would want to be there.

History and folklore

The titles of Speak Your Piece: a podcast about Utah's history keep returning to a multi-part series on Native American boarding schools in the American West and in Utah. Franci Lynne Taylor links the Dawes Act of 1887 to Carlisle as two policies pushing Native people towards individualism and land loss, and argues the later schools kept the same assimilation logic under tribal boards; Diné elders Rose Jakub and Gayle Dawes describe 70 children to a dorm, 5:30 a.m. wakeups and "army fold" bedmaking. I am Salt Lake Podcast is Chris Holifield talking to people one at a time, and the recent run is heavy on the uncanny: Danny B.
