The most Nevada moment on this page is two Wolfpack football voices working through the Pac-12's raid on the Mountain West and arriving at the awkward in-state part. What Nevada is

Nevada is a large, dry, mountainous state in the American West, mostly federal land, its people concentrated in Las Vegas in the far south and Reno in the north, near Lake Tahoe and the capital, Carson City. Legal casino gambling built its modern economy. The University of Nevada is in Reno; UNLV is in Las Vegas.

Wolfpack, Rebels, Raiders, Knights

Sports is the largest filing on this page. Inside the Den Podcast's titles are a run of Nevada football game previews. LETS RUN: A Las Vegas Sports Podcast is the UNLV side, a quick two-voice show that sits between analysis and fandom; one clip asks, of the whole conference, "Does anyone actually want to win the Mountain West Conference in the year 2025?" Locked On Raiders - Daily Podcast On The Las Vegas Raiders has Tom Brady FaceTiming Kirk Cousins at a youth baseball practice to explain the organization's vision. Locked On Golden Knights - Daily Podcast On the Vegas Golden Knights follows the hockey team from "Playoff Bound!" to "One point away from Pacific Division Title", with Jack Eichel's four-point night and Mark Stone at 73 points in 59 games.

The casino past, and a crime lab in the north

The Flamingo gets told twice. The Jeff Does Vegas Podcast, in "From The Vault: Bugsy - Fact vs. Fiction", credits Billy Wilkerson rather than Bugsy Siegel with conceiving it; Sin City Stories: Vegas True Crime describes Wilkerson's floor plan, the casino as a hub every guest had to cross, no windows, no clocks. 360 Vegas is several people around a table handing facts back and forth, and it is where the history becomes the state's: Kirk Kerkorian renting 40 acres for $190,000 a year plus 15% of Caesars Palace's earnings, and Howard Hughes's 1967 Desert Inn purchase forcing Nevada to change its gaming-license rules for corporations.

Coffee With a Criminalist is the north's answer, from the Washoe County Sheriff's Office forensic division: a hit 34 years after 1984 murders that pointed to Alex Ewing, who had attacked a couple with an axe handle in Henderson, Nevada, and Monica comparing quarter-sized samples with six-to-eight-week waits against pinhead samples and results within a day.

Housing, wildlife, and the professions

Nevada Real Estate Radio sounds like a local radio conversation that has been going for years, all prices and percentages: Japanese home builders having bought 23 U.S. single-family builders since 2020, and Lisa Fleck calling rate fear crowd behavior rather than a strategy.
