How Cryptocurrency podcasts differ, and which to try
A good crypto podcast eventually leaves the price chart for harder questions: who holds the keys, who writes the rules, and who absorbs the loss when code fails. At their best these shows take a seed phrase or a regulator's custody rule and follow it all the way to the person holding the coins. At their worst they sell conviction, with a sponsor read and a course link close behind.
Listeners now argue about trust as much as direction. In May 2026, Ethereum listeners disputed whether a show that broadened its scope had drifted or become usefully independent. In a September 2026 Bitcoin thread, one listener recommended an interview show while another distrusted it because of its business associations. Some publishers' September 2026 episodes, meanwhile, weighed tokenized stocks and stablecoin banking alongside price. Ask of every show below: what is it selling, and does it say so?
Following the plumbing
Unchained is the feed led by Laura Shin, and it also carries panel shows. In Uneasy Money: BIP-361 Wants to Freeze Satoshi's Coins. What Happens If It Passes? the panel explains why quantum computers threaten Bitcoin keys, then slows down for anyone who is not "bitcoin first". DEX in the City: How the SEC’s Crypto Task Force Is Rebuilding Trust with Builders brings in Commissioner Hester Peirce and Sumera Yunus, and one guest notes that small teams can't afford lawyers. Early in The Chopping Block: The Ethereum Foundation Manifesto + Who Really Runs Crypto?, Dragonfly's Haseeb says "nothing we say here is investment advice, legal advice, or even life advice".
Epicenter - Learn about Crypto, Blockchain, Ethereum, Bitcoin and Distributed Technologies goes narrower and deeper. In Taiko: Scaling Ethereum in a Decentralised Manner - Joaquin Mendes, Friederike Ernst asks which opcodes were hardest to replicate in a zk circuit. Mendes concedes that Taiko has been naturally profitable on fewer than half of its days. These 2025 episodes assume the vocabulary.
On The Brink with Castle Island comes from Matt Walsh and Nic Carter, and in the roundup below it reads the week through documents. In Weekly Roundup 07/24/26 (BTC Security Consortium, Genesis' Terra trade, DAT departures, Farewell to BitMEX, Network State drama) the hosts read aloud a June 2022 situation overview that records a $38.8 million net loss on Genesis's Luna trade. Listeners curious about the funding side can turn to the Venture Capital page.
Borrowing against the coin
Three shows take up Bitcoin-backed loans, and the contrast is instructive.
- The Pomp Podcast: In How Bitcoin Millionaires Use Their BTC Without Selling It | Shehzan Maredia, the guest says 90-plus percent of his company's users borrow against their Bitcoin, commonly toward a home. Later he warns of "a quiet gambling epidemic".
- Crypto Collective: In #156 - How To Buy Property Without Selling Your Bitcoin, the host pitches the idea as a chance to play the rich's game, "without paying a single dollar in tax" on the loan funds.
- Bitcoin for Financial Services Podcast: This one supplies the arithmetic. In The Bitcoin Capital Markets Episode Nobody Made Yet, a speaker describes coding a calculator because he dislikes how these loans are sold. The talk then turns to backtesting against old prices in case of a margin call.
Treat each as a claim to check against your own lender and tax rules.
Reading the market with the doubt left in
The DeFi Report, hosted by Michael Nadeau and Ryan Sean Adams, calls itself an investor journal. In The Bottom Is Not In! Why We Get 4-Year Cycles, Adams plays the skeptic, asking why Nadeau thinks the economy has slowed with the S&P half a percent from its high. That pushback is what makes the forecast worth hearing. On The Wolf Of All Streets, in "Bitcoin Will Bottom When This Happens" | Ben Cowen, Cowen puts the chance that the low is in at "probably only like 25%" and says near the end "strong opinions, loosely held".
This Week in Bitcoin argues from conviction yet resists easy stories. In 100: The Market Fit the host takes apart an LLM-based claim that Adam Back is Satoshi, pointing out that the white paper cites Back's Hashcash. In 99: Empire in Denial he admits downloads dipped 13 percent after a week off, which is rare candour about a show's economics. For similar scrutiny of equities, try the Stock Market Analysis page.
Conviction, live and loud
Some shows offer company more than analysis. The UKBitcoinMaster Podcast Series is a live stream. In 🇬🇧 BITCOIN | We knew this was coming!! (Ep 808) 🚀 Brian greets viewers in the chat by name and tells them not to come "looking for financial advice". In 🇬🇧 BITCOIN | The warning signs are there and clear to see!! (Ep 803) 🚀 he also tells them "Don't be in cash." In CRYPTO 101's Crypto Rundown: Technical Pattern Signals for Bitcoin and Eth Plus Top Altcoins in The News, a host admits "Call me biased" before a long-term call, and the episode plugs a live-trading course. Chart-minded listeners can compare the Stock Trading & Options page.
Crypto Coach Will's #036 - How to Reduce Your Crypto Taxes (Legally), with Adrian Forza of Crypto Tax Australia, runs on Australian rules about trusts and super funds. Daily Crypto News keeps episodes to 20 minutes or less. In Dec 17: When Crypto Partnerships Become Legal Liabilities, Matt mocks an FTC account of a bridge hack whose fix depended on an engineer on a plane.
