About The Worst Girl Gang Ever
The Worst Girl Gang Ever describes itself, in its own opening, as the podcast nobody wants to listen to. That framing sets the terms. Bex and Laura talk about miscarriage, infertility and baby loss with people who have lived through them, and the aim is to say out loud what usually goes unsaid. Guests come from anywhere: Virginia, Oman, wherever the connection holds. The interviews are unhurried and largely unstructured, which is what lets the specifics land. Shruti recounts buying two identical pots and planting two Tulsi plants. They bloomed every summer. She talked to them, sometimes ate their leaves, and kept the pots on her deck through winter after the leaves had gone. When she came to name her life coaching business, she called it Tulsi Heals, so the plants would be spoken about by everyone who spoke about her work. Steve appears alongside his daughter Nix, and is direct about the limits of what he can know. He says plainly that as a man he will never understand it physically or emotionally, but that he can learn and pass it on. Through fundraising he found three or four men who had been through miscarriage and had never mentioned it to him, as he had never mentioned it to them. His conclusion is unadorned: it grinds you down anyway, but it grinds you down harder in silence. Lizzie Alexander joins for an episode on what living with endometriosis actually involves. The show does not stay solemn throughout. Weather chat, jokes and small ordinary detours sit next to the heaviest material, and the hosts treat that mixture as normal rather than as a break in tone. The dark humour is not performed for effect; it arrives the way it does among people who have been through the same thing. What holds the episodes together is the refusal to treat pregnancy loss as an embarrassment. Shame and taboo are named as the enemy, and the argument is made for the sake of the children who are, the ones still to come, and the ones who never arrived. Around the podcast sits a wider operation. Episodes close with a pointer toward membership, online events, a daily WhatsApp support community and a published book. For anyone in the early weeks of loss, or years past it and still with no one to say it to, the show functions as proof that the experience is common and that describing it out loud is survivable.
Made for: Anyone living with miscarriage, infertility or baby loss, and the partners, fathers, families and friends trying to understand it. It also suits listeners who want honest first-person accounts of grief rather than clinical overviews.
What sets it apart: It treats pregnancy loss as an ordinary subject for long, unhurried conversation, letting dark humour and small talk sit alongside grief instead of stripping them out. It also makes room for the people around the loss, including a father speaking about how rarely men mention it.
In their own words
The Worst Girl Gang Ever is a real, honest emotive podcast that covers the heartbreaking subject of miscarriage, infertility and baby loss, expect honest conversations about unspoken experiences. Hosted by TWGGE founders Bex Gunn and Laura Buckingham, this show is a chance to break the silence and really open up the dialogue around the topic of miscarriage and pregnancy loss. No more shame, no more taboo - let's ditch that for our children; the ones that will come, the ones that are and the ones that never came to be..
