The DJ Sessions

The DJ Sessions is a sprawling interview series about electronic music from the inside of the room. Darren anchors the conversations from the virtual studios in Seattle, then brings in guests from places like London, Miami, Rome, Florence, Tuscany, Germany, Houston, and Atlanta. The format is loose by design. A guest arrives with a new project, a label connection, a festival story, or a long career path, and the conversation works outward from there. Artists talk about finding a sound. Industry guests talk about visibility, licensing, and the gap between making music and getting it heard. The show has a real appetite for the practical side of dance music. Chad Shearer’s appearance turns PR into a story about design, personality, and a company shifting over time. Nicky Rowland’s conversation runs through independent work, major-label experiences, AI marketing tools, and the pull toward creative control. Barry Coffing’s episode puts music supervision and film strategy in plain working terms, especially the problem of clearing and placing music when budgets are tight. The artist interviews keep circling back to patience. Cosmic Gate’s episode frames the Perspectives EP as an extended act of musical storytelling, with history folded into the present. Amlex describes production through passion, sacrifice, pain, and hard work, which gives the show one of its clearest emotional through-lines. Leo Oliver brings in Miami nightlife, Art Week energy, tech house momentum, and influences that stretch beyond club music. Remo Giugni talks about vinyl roots, career ambition, trends, compromise, and the responsibility of having a stage. HAXHIA’s appearance adds ADE, long mixes, release pressure, and the value of consistency. Darren often adds his own memories from broadcast, hip-hop television, podcasting, livestreaming, and virtual reality experiments, but the guest remains the center of gravity. The style is friendly, busy, and sometimes rough around the edges. It favors momentum over perfect polish. For listeners interested in how DJs, producers, publicists, and licensing people actually think, the show offers a lively record of the business, craft, and social fabric around electronic music.
