CINEMISSES! is a comedy movie-review show about the films that slipped past one of its two regular voices. The premise is narrow and useful. Instead of treating familiar titles as already-settled business, Tug and Matt come at them from the awkward angle of late discovery. Sometimes one has seen the movie and the other has not. Sometimes the missed film becomes a double blank. That gives the show its recurring charge: expectation first, then collision with the actual movie. The conversation is fully spoiler-friendly, and the episodes make no pretense of staying tidy. A movie like The Godfather becomes both a mafia-movie discussion and a running joke about how anyone could have missed it. Snatch opens the door to Guy Ritchie, football hard men, Vinnie Jones, Saul Campbell, Trainspotting connections, and the strange pleasure of recognizing faces in tiny roles. No Country for Old Men gives the hosts room to talk through Javier Bardem, Josh Brolin, Stephen Root, Mark Strong, the poolside scene, and the gas-station tension. Sinners shows how far the side banter can travel before the film even takes center stage, with flu symptoms, birthday timing, and an overheated Mario Kart dream filling the room. The show’s criticism is conversational rather than academic. It notices performances, structure, casting, genre expectations, and memorable scenes, but it often gets there by teasing, correcting, and riffing. The tone is blunt, familiar, and casually irreverent. It can be messy in the way a good hangout can be messy. The value is the chemistry: two people comfortable enough to push back, admit when they were wrong, and let a bit part or a half-remembered actor send them somewhere funny. CINEMISSES! is for listeners who want movie talk with spoilers, jokes, trivia, and the feeling of catching up on movie homework with friends.
