Criterio Cero Podcast

Criterio Cero Podcast is a Spanish-language show built around several recurring formats rather than a single fixed one. 'La Cartelera de Criterio Cero' is solo-hosted and functions as a weekly new-release roundup, covering multiple films or series per episode with the host ranking or recommending each. 'Criterio en Serie' is a panel format with three regular co-hosts — Álvaro Gil, Salva, and Juandi appear together on Daredevil Born Again coverage, while Álvaro Gil, Ale Oñate, and a host referred to as Álvaro appear together on Fallout coverage — who watch an episode the same day and debate plot mechanics, character consistency, and production choices such as color grading or superpower logic. 'Criterio Cero Extra' departs from review format entirely for solo, research-based historical episodes timed to accompany film discussions, such as a detailed account of Kuribayashi's tunnel defense strategy at Iwo Jima. Across segments the recurring subject matter is Marvel and DC-adjacent superhero television, video-game adaptations like Fallout, and streaming-platform originals from Netflix, HBO Max, Disney+, and Apple TV. The tone throughout is conversational and casual, closer to friends debating a show they just watched than formal criticism, with frequent digressions into franchise speculation (e.g., whether a sequel will be greenlit, whether a character will die). Listeners who already follow the specific film or series being discussed get the most out of episodes, since the panel segments assume the audience has seen the episode in question. The show benefits fans of ongoing genre television who want detailed, episode-by-episode discussion rather than broad-strokes reviews, as well as listeners interested in the historical events behind war films.
