The same linebacker gets named on two Buccaneers shows in the same month: Scott Reynolds on Pewter Report Podcast says he would take Jacob Rodriguez at 15, and Jaren on Locked On Bucs names Rodriguez and R. Mason Thomas as the targets he wants most. That is the register of Tampa's listening: three professional teams, argued by people who assume the listener already knows the depth chart. Football takes the largest share, hockey runs close behind with playoff previews, and the Rays are treated as a farm system and a stadium question as much as a ballclub. Away from the teams it is talk radio, real estate agents and candidate interviews. Music and the arts barely register.

What Tampa is

Tampa sits on Florida's Gulf coast at the head of Tampa Bay, the largest city in a metropolitan area that also takes in St. Petersburg and Clearwater across the water. It is a port city and the seat of Hillsborough County, known for Ybor City's cigar-making past. The Buccaneers and Lightning play in Tampa itself; the Rays' home, Tropicana Field, is across the bay in St. Petersburg.

The Buccaneers, argued from the depth chart

The Bucs clips on this page come from one stretch: a season's end and the run-up to the draft. Cannon Fire Podcast sat with the ending. In "Bucs Miss the Playoffs: Are Changes on the Way? - Ep. 536", Rhett Matthew walks through how the NFC South closed, the Panthers taking the playoff spot after the Falcons beat the Rams, then turns to what an 8-9 finish means for Todd Bowles, the Glazers and Jason Licht. It sounds like two fans working a question, one setting it up and the other pushing back.

Pewter Report Podcast and Locked On Bucs pick up on the draft board. Pewter Report has Adam insisting on an inside linebacker inside the top two rounds, Mark Fisher asking how the defense can be a strength if Bowles keeps calling soft zone, and a careful argument over whether to spend a pick on a prospect who missed a season to injury. Locked On Bucs runs the same material as a scenario test: Marcus says Tampa Bay cannot rely on rookies to be impact players if it wants to win now, and another clip holds that anyone comfortable paying Trey Hendrickson $25-30 million a year cannot logically object to drafting Mesidor at 25 on a rookie deal. Both are quick and conversational, with a rotating cast rather than a fixed pair.

The Lightning on the eve of Montreal

In April 2026 the Lightning drew the Canadiens in round one, and the hockey clips gather there. On Locked On Lightning, Greg Stephen argues Andrei Vasilevskiy could steal the series himself, because goaltending wins playoff series and he is the best goalie in the league right now; the other voice adds that it will come down to depth, four dangerous lines rather than Kucherov, Point and Hagel alone, and another clip puts a number on the worry, 62 goals allowed over the last 16 playoff games. Its manner is measured and analytical, two voices who live inside the sport but still explain why a matchup matters, and its July titles have turned to Kucherov's next contract and Victor Matheson on salary caps, no state income tax and arena financing. Lightning Insider Hockey Podcast is a different team from early 2024: Kucherov thirty points clear of any teammate, and BriseBois saying Stamkos will not be traded.

The Rays as a system, the stadium as a question

Rays Your Voice: A Tampa Bay Rays Podcast treats the club as an ecosystem rather than a box score. In "State of the Farm System with Cole Mitchem", the guest argues the farm is deep even without a consensus top-10 prospect, then gets specific about a Montgomery lineup he thinks could beat Durham in a seven-game series. A July 2025 deadline preview has Brian Menendez on Brian Baker's 19% home-run-to-fly-ball rate and the case for him as Pete Fairbanks' backfill.

The stadium runs through everything else. Sports Day Tampa Bay, which sounds like two local reporters the day after, marks the Rays' return to a brighter Tropicana Field with Andy Freed's microphone failing during the pregame ceremony and an ovation for a local pitcher back on a big-league mound after 560-odd days; another clip has Cliff working out that Baker Mayfield's 2027 tag number jumps from $55 million to $66 million. On Duncan Duo Tampa Real Estate Show a proposed ballpark near HCC and Raymond James Stadium is a reason to buy in the 33607 and 33614 zip codes. Miller and Moulton, Florida sports radio titled by date and hour, spends its clips here on the trade itself, with Moulton putting 90% of insider reporting down to teams, agents or agencies.

WFLA, and a morning table filed under Comedy

AM Tampa Bay - Newsradio WFLA Podcasts plays Julie Weintraub of Hands Across the Bay on an event that raised over $300,000 and passed $40,000 to groups like Bikers Against Child Abuse, and on why the charity funds other charities: courtrooms are unsafe places for children who have witnessed domestic violence. Beyond the News WFLA Interviews is what its title says, and its clip is Gordon Byrd with Jerome Ryans of the Tampa Housing Authority and developer Dan Coakley on the demolition of the 1951 Robles Park complex for a mixed-income village of 850 units, and on the bodies from Zion Cemetery still buried under the site. Tampa Bay's Morning Krewe On Demand is the other morning show: J.R., Lana and Kevin run a fast table where a cruise-cash contest, TSA back pay and the Artemis II rocket on the pad at Kennedy get the same quick treatment.

Politics, local and state

Reclaiming My Mind, hosted by Jessica Vaughn and filed under Government, is candidate-interview listening that stays close to the ground: Stephanie Vasquez on Pasco County, where development needs pressure because 200 houses should not arrive before roads and schools; Tony Bernard Smith on Plant City losing acres of agricultural land as farmers sell and strawberries shrink. Dishonorable Mention has more argument in it: Carla Mastracchio on why January 6 and the Black Lives Matter protests are not equivalent events, Katie Blaxberg on why boring school board meetings mean procedure and policy are getting done, Claire Lessinger on how Tampa Bay turned Super Bowl 55 into a $2 million community legacy program. Duncan Duo Tampa Real Estate Show is the rapid one, talk-radio pace with opinions attached: 71% of agents did zero transactions last year and 86% did four or fewer, and Andrew Duncan says buyers and sellers need all the information up front before contingencies expire. Melanie Loves Tampa Bay is slower and interview-led, an agent with Smith & Associates talking with others in the business, from a five-unit Sarasota building with a $5 million penthouse to British buyers who assume they can rent a Florida property short-term until community rules say otherwise.
