How INTEL podcasts differ, and which to try
Most Intel listening begins with a verdict already forming. Did the latest processor deliver? Is the roadmap credible? How does the price compare with whatever AMD, Apple, Arm, Qualcomm or NVIDIA has just announced? The company usually appears inside a running hardware argument rather than a self-contained profile, as titles such as Intel Core i9-9900KS: Victory or Defeat? - Intel's Core i9-9900KS & NVIDIA's GTX 1660 SUPER and Tech Earnings Deep Dive: Intel, AMD, Qualcomm & NVIDIA Futures make clear.
That makes the coverage lively, but fragmented. One show wants benchmarks, another wants manufacturing strategy, and another simply wants to know whether a rumoured product has been cancelled. The best starting point depends on which of those questions you actually care about.
When every chip becomes a scorecard
This Week in Computer Hardware (Audio) provides the deepest run of Intel-focused listening. Its headlines are blunt and combative: Ryzen 9 Spanks Intel Core i9! - Ryzen 9 3950X, Samsung Exynos 990!!!, Intel is NOT Extreme - Intel I9-10980XE EXTREME EDITION, Snapdragon 865 and Blue Light Special: Intel CPUs Now Half Off! - Intel's cheap chips & Microsoft's Surface Duo! all turn product news into an immediate judgment. Even architectural questions arrive with stakes attached, as in Did Intel Just Kill 10nm Desktops? - Google Pixel 4, Huawei's sales growth, & the Phanteks Eclipse P400A case. Listen here for the accumulated drama of launches, pricing and competitive pressure, delivered in the vocabulary of enthusiast hardware.
The TechStack is a cleaner counterpoint. It builds episodes around explainers and explicit questions, including Snapdragon Elite X2 Performance & Intel Terafab Announcement Explained and Core Ultra 300 Series Launch - Did Intel Deliver With Panther Lake? The framing is still competitive, but less gleefully theatrical. Arm’s New AGI CPU Stuns, Intel Pro Day Takeaways, Social Media On Trial also shows how quickly Intel can become one item in a wider technology briefing.
PC Perspective Podcast is looser and more knowingly chaotic. Its panel style mixes technical detail with jokes, price talk and familiar PC-hardware grievances. Intel lands amid crowded headline piles in Podcast #863 - Ryzen 9950X3D2 Pricing, Raptor Lake Still Part of Intel Plan, Compress Your VRAM, Steam rates FPS + MORE! and becomes the setup for an eyebrow-raising question in Podcast #856 - ASRock BIOS Fix, 700W Intel CPU? HP Rents Gaming Laptops, Homelab Bling, Discord Drama, Microsoft "Quality" + MORE! Riffs and interruptions are part of the appeal as the analysis unfolds.
For the compressed version, UFD Tech's Hot News offers Intel 48% DX11 Update. Its style is rapid, conversational and comfortable turning technical news into internet-native comedy. The Intel coverage is much thinner here, but the pace is useful when one sharp update is enough.
The comparison never stays two-sided
Rene Ritchie steps back from individual launches and makes the competitive frame the subject. Apple vs Intel vs Qualcomm — Who wins 2023! promises a direct contest, while The End of Big Silicon — Apple, Intel, Qualcomm widens that contest into a larger industry argument. These episodes offer a way into platform direction, taking the discussion beyond any single benchmark result.
Techpinions places Intel beside the other forces moving the technology business. Intel Manufacturing Strategy, Microsoft Remote Work Study, Samsung Networks Marvell 5G SOC gives manufacturing its own headline slot; Verizon-AWS Edge Computing, Intel 5G Infrastructure, Samsung A Series, T-Mobile 5G moves into infrastructure; and Apple Spring Launch, Netflix and Intel Earnings, Microsoft Work Habits Study puts the company inside a broader business-news conversation. The episodes are multi-topic, so expect focused segments rather than full-length portraits.
ThinkComputers Weekly Tech Podcast is more practical and familiar in tone, moving briskly through specifications before offering plain value judgments. ThinkComputers Podcast #482 - First ASRock AiO, Intel Rethinking CPUs, DDR5 Prices Going Down? is representative: Intel matters, but it shares the table with cooling hardware and memory prices. This is routine weekly-listening territory rather than a deep investigation.
Interviews, systems and enterprise stakes
Google Cloud Platform Podcast offers the clearest move away from headline-panel coverage. Intel with Rebecca Weekly is the direct on-ramp, while Chromebook with Intel with Angela Gosz and Courtney Harrison and Chromebook's 10th Birthday with Angela Gosz and Courtney Harrison from Intel centre the conversation on a particular platform and named guests. The interviews give you room to follow a discussion away from the arguments over individual launches.
Puget Systems Podcast narrows the focus further, toward performance testing and professional hardware. Episode 116 - Puget Systems Podcast - Nvidia RTX 3090Ti & Intel i9-12900KS Review Roundup w/ The Puget Labs Team is a concrete review pairing rather than a general company discussion. Intel coverage is limited, but the episode has an applied, workbench quality that the news roundups do not.
CarahCast: Podcasts on Technology in the Public Sector brings a more formal briefing cadence to Inside Intel: Shaping the Future of Compute. Its interview-led style is courteous, technical and oriented toward operational questions. That makes it a useful change of register after several hours of enthusiast hardware banter.
AI Proving Ground Podcast: Exploring Artificial Intelligence & Enterprise AI with World Wide Technology approaches from the enterprise-AI side in The Ferrari Problem in AI | Intel. The show’s usual concerns are adoption, infrastructure, governance and practical next steps, with a question-led roundtable style. AI deployment takes precedence over desktop parts here, making this a more specialised stop among the shows discussing Intel.
Where to start
For the full hardware-show experience, begin with This Week in Computer Hardware (Audio) and Intel Core i9-9900KS: Victory or Defeat? - Intel's Core i9-9900KS & NVIDIA's GTX 1660 SUPER. The title captures the show’s habit of turning a launch into a contest.
For a more orderly product-and-roadmap check, try The TechStack’s Core Ultra 300 Series Launch - Did Intel Deliver With Panther Lake?
For strategy beyond the benchmark chart, use Techpinions and Intel Manufacturing Strategy, Microsoft Remote Work Study, Samsung Networks Marvell 5G SOC.
For a direct interview, Google Cloud Platform Podcast’s Intel with Rebecca Weekly is the simplest on-ramp.
