UN PODCAST SUL TENNIS

UN PODCAST SUL TENNIS is an Italian tennis show with the attention span of a group chat and the memory bank of people who have watched far too much tennis. It keeps insisting, with comic resignation, that it only sometimes talks about tennis. That is part of the trick. The openings wander through pocket holes, objects worn on the wrist, foot care, cleaning products, boxed food, television game shows, and personal defeats on court before the draw sheet finally appears. Once it does, the conversation becomes dense very quickly. Berrettini against Medvedev, Monte Carlo, Challenger results, direct records, clay discomfort, doubles partners, injuries, wild cards, rankings, and player form all get handled with real familiarity. The show is especially alive around the unglamorous tennis economy. It cares about players traveling to Pakistan, India, Thailand, South America, Kazakhstan, Ostrava, Barletta, Monastir, Pula, and Antalya because those places reveal the sport below the postcard version. Guests describe protected rankings, surgery recoveries, bakery work, university events, Olympic-village experiences, mixed doubles medals, and the strange calculation of spending money to chase points. The panel respects that grind. It also cannot resist turning it into jokes. Italian tennis is followed with obsessive granularity, from Berrettini and Arnaldi to Bellucci, Sonego, Cecchinato, Maestrelli, Pellegrino, Gigante, Brancaccio, Moroni, and others moving through ATP, Challenger, and qualifying margins. Romanian tennis and Belgian tennis can become mock-grand themes. The show likes a side theory. It likes a correction even more. It asks the Telegram community to weigh in, then treats that community as part of the ongoing argument. The result is messy in the useful sense: informed, personal, impatient with fake importance, and happy to admit when a match was only half-seen. Episodes often end with tennis names folded into parody-song chaos, as if the sport’s lower ranks needed their own odd chorus. Marco Pastonesi’s appearance brings a sharper reflection on shouted sports journalism, while other guests keep the focus on life inside the tour’s less glamorous levels. The show is not built for clean highlights. It is built for people who enjoy the rankings spreadsheet, the bad venue, the travel story, the half-serious moral position, and the player nobody else has mentioned all week.
