Unsigned Pennsylvania rock, kept local and live.
The gist
The Pennsylvania Rock Show keeps Pennsylvania’s unsigned rock and metal scene in the room, one band conversation at a time. It pairs new tracks and upcoming shows with relaxed interviews that leave room for pizza talk, venue talk, recording stories, and the occasional live-production stumble.

About the Pennsylvania Rock Show
The Pennsylvania Rock Show is built around Pennsylvania’s unsigned rock and metal scene, but it does not approach that world from a distance. It feels close to the room. Tracks play first, band members come on next, and the conversation keeps the names of venues, bills, studios, stations, and other local acts in circulation. Bill Damiano hosts with a live-broadcast looseness that is part of the show’s identity. If a button is still being turned on, a guest name needs another try, or the headphones stop behaving, the moment usually stays in. That rough edge gives the interviews a working-scene feel rather than a polished showcase feel. Guests talk about band names, influences, new releases, writing habits, practice routines, set timing, and upcoming shows. The show also follows its own side roads. A metal conversation can turn into Dimebag Darryl at a dream dinner, old architecture on a college campus, a debate over pizza, or a musician explaining how a lyric grew out of a news phrase during football season. Those digressions are useful because they reveal the people behind the bands. The recurring questions help regular listeners know where they are. “Who is your Dave Grohl?” opens the door to musical idols, while dinner-table hypotheticals let guests place Lead Belly, Freddie Mercury, Janice Joplin, Winston Churchill, JFK, or other figures in imagined company. The music remains the anchor. Episodes name tracks, send listeners into breaks, and circle back with more songs on the way out. Local infrastructure matters here too. Music from 412, Build a Scene, radio partners, ticket giveaways, livestreams, and show listings are treated as part of the same ecosystem as the bands. The result is less a critic’s survey than a scene document in motion. It is warm, busy, sometimes technically imperfect, and generally more interested in what bands are doing next than in dressing them up for outsiders. Listeners looking for neat national tastemaking may find it too local and talky. Listeners who want Pennsylvania rock from inside the network of shows, friends, stages, recordings, and weekly radio habits will understand the appeal quickly.
Made for: For listeners who want Pennsylvania rock and metal from close range: band interviews, scene updates, new tracks, show bills, and the stories around them.
What sets it apart: The show keeps the machinery visible, folding technical hiccups, station mentions, ticket giveaways, venue talk, and recurring interview questions into a genuine record of the local music scene.
