SCP: Find Us Alive is a serialized audio drama set in the SCP Foundation universe, and like all SCP Foundation material it is released under a Creative Commons ShareAlike 3.0 license. Its focus is Site-107, a Foundation site sealed off from the ordinary world by a rift. The staff inside are waiting to be recovered. People on the outside are trying to reach them, and the characters describe a tether running along mirror sides of the rift, so that an explosion out there can knock the lights out in here. Nothing stays fixed for long. Quakes return to what one character calls pre-escape levels, and a broadcast frets that news is arriving a week late while Overwatch Command, which the speaker knows is listening, says nothing. Then comes the obvious question: are they about to be contained? Blackouts are tracked as 'wildcard' effects, and the first one, the characters note, followed a death. The anomalies are vivid and odd: something called Highway, praised as a good boy and kept in his own chamber, something called Dump Truck that has to be stopped from teleporting, and a figure taller than Ingrid hidden under strands of cable that drip silver fluid. Some of the most unsettling material concerns marks the staff make on their own bodies, measured and compared, including one that Dr. Bakir printed onto her finger with a laser cutter. The drama also knows when to go quiet. One narrator props a door open with a rubber wedge, sits on a concrete step above an empty parking lot and watches the sky turn pale blue, then pale yellow, before a sun rises that their eyes, tender after months in the dark, can barely face. Lancaster sits down beside them, and neither speaks. Dry humor surfaces in the middle of chaos, as when a fight is called a bloodbath in which nobody actually got hurt. Episodes shift between first-person narration, broadcast-style reports and rapid full-cast exchanges, with original music by Jackson McMurray, who is also credited as the voice of Lancaster. Ashley Quills is credited as Cordell and Vin Vox as Noah, among a larger ensemble. Several episodes begin with Anna, who introduces herself as writer and director, adopting a silly persona, a melting popsicle one time and a 2 a.m. vacuuming upstairs neighbor another, before reading out new patrons. Those openings also carry production news, from scriptbooks on the way to word that Hymns for the Road was a finalist at the Aesthetica Film Festival in the UK. Recent titles such as '64: See You On The Outside', '65: Outside' and '66: Inside' keep circling the line between the two worlds, and the story's many callbacks reward taking the numbered episodes in order. Above all, it is a survival story told from inside the trap, with the plea in the show's name hanging over every broadcast.
Made for: Suits a listener who enjoys serialized, fully voiced science-fiction horror in the SCP Foundation setting and is happy to follow a large cast, strange anomalies and running continuity from one numbered episode to the next.
What sets it apart: It keeps one stranded site and its ensemble at the center, pairing broadcast-style dispatches and hushed first-person narration with chaotic full-cast scenes, all scored with original music. Comic patron-thanking openings from its writer and director add a lighter frame.
