About Removing Barriers
Removing Barriers is a Christian show shaped around one repeated concern: what keeps people from seeing the cross clearly. Its episodes mix testimony, missionary reporting, Bible-centered counsel, and cultural commentary. Jay and MCG are recurring named voices, and their conversations usually return to salvation, repentance, witness, and the authority of Scripture. The show has several recognizable lanes. “On the Mission Field” episodes spend time with missionaries describing daily work, local resistance, language learning, and the spiritual barriers they see in the places they serve. Recent examples include Bolivia, where Carnival, Catholic practice, and local traditions become part of the conversation, and Mexico, where Mennonite communities, schooling, language, and separation from outsiders frame the challenge. “How Were Your Barriers Removed?” episodes focus on conversion stories and the personal search for peace, identity, and assurance. The current-events series “This World Has Gone Bonkers” takes a more combative shape. It reacts to stories about AI facial recognition mistakes, sports organizations, media figures, ICE, policing, and voting law debates, often challenging both public narratives and perceived hypocrisy. Other episodes are more pastoral. Conversations with David Somerdorf and Miss Deb address marriage, selfishness, commitment, legalism, liberty, lawlessness, and the danger of defining Jesus by public opinion rather than Scripture. The pacing is conversational and often unscripted, with room for disagreement, follow-up questions, and long answers. The editorial posture is conservative and evangelistic. It is not trying to be a neutral religion show. It is built for listeners who want public life, church life, and private conscience measured against a clear gospel claim. Even when the subject is politics or social conflict, the closing emphasis usually lands on prayer, obedience, the Great Commission, and telling others about Jesus Christ.
Made for: Removing Barriers is for Christian listeners who want missions stories, testimony, Bible-based counsel, and current-event commentary from an evangelistic perspective. It especially suits those interested in apologetics, witness, and practical church life.
What sets it apart: The show connects cultural argument and missionary field reports to the same central question: what blocks a clear view of the cross. Its mix of testimony series, missions interviews, and blunt news commentary gives it a sharper evangelistic throughline than a standard Christian talk show.
In their own words
Many barriers exist that can prevent us from seeing the cross clearly. We want to attempt to remove those barriers and share the gospel. But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear (1 Peter 3:15). For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. (Romans 1:16)
