Level BackUp

Level BackUp is a Norwegian gaming panel show with a loose, familiar rhythm and a serious appetite for what games feel like after several hours, not just after the first impression. The conversation is quick. It overlaps, corrects itself, wanders, and circles back. Recent episodes move through Crimson Desert, Death Stranding 2, Pokopia, Morbid Metal, Crop, Neverway, Mortal Shell 2, DLSS5, and smaller discoveries pulled from videos, streams, and personal play sessions. The show is at its best when a broad topic becomes concrete. Death Stranding 2 is not only a sequel under review; it becomes a discussion of ziplines, player-built roads, safer routes, backtracking, online structures, and the almost therapeutic satisfaction of turning hard terrain into something navigable. Pokopia is not just another cozy building game. It becomes a city made centimeter by centimeter, with grass, flowers, callbacks, and the strange pull of an endgame space that refuses to leave the head. The panel also follows curiosity outside the release calendar. A discussion of Louis Theroux and online controversy leads into praise for Margaret Hoover’s Firing Line and the relief of hearing informed people speak calmly about complicated subjects. A New Frame Plus animation video opens a door to overlooked games and to ideas like squash and stretch, categories of animation, and why some movement simply feels right. The result is a show that can be playful one minute and surprisingly reflective the next. It is not tidy in a corporate way. It keeps the digressions. It lets enthusiasm and criticism sit in the same breath. The format suits listeners who want games discussed as played experiences, with mechanics, mood, frustration, discovery, community tools, and personal routine all tangled together. Level BackUp’s charm is that it sounds like a weekly conversation still being figured out in real time.
