Spanish-language history, argued carefully and aloud.
The gist
HistoCast treats history as a roomful of people arguing, correcting, and laughing their way toward clarity. Recent episodes range from child rescuers in the Second World War to Felipe II, Berlin war sites, early tanks, and León’s medieval courts.

About HistoCast
HistoCast is a Spanish-language history roundtable with the feel of friends who know too much to keep the conversation tidy. It begins loosely. Then the subject gathers weight. One episode may frame itself as a resource for teachers, built around children and adolescents who helped save Jews during the Second World War. Another may linger over naval planning, Felipe II, Medina Sidonia, Alejandro Farnesio, and the myth around the Armada. The show is especially comfortable with military history, but it does not treat battles as isolated spectacle. Tanks become a way to talk about armored vehicles, naval thinking, Churchill, the Landship Committee, awkward prototypes, and the brutal physical reality of early armored vehicles. Berlin becomes more than a travel plan. It turns into a route through bunkers, flak towers, the Jewish Museum, city geography, and visible remains of the Second World War. HistoCast also reaches into institutional and political history, as in its recording from the Salón del Pendón of the Real Colegiata de San Isidoro, where León’s courts are discussed as a major point in the history of parliamentarianism. The show’s style is conversational rather than ceremonial. People interrupt, qualify, remember, correct, and joke. That looseness gives the harder material a human edge, especially when the topics include Auschwitz, the Gestapo, hiding places, persecution, and wartime survival. It can be brisk and sprawling at the same time, with a so-called short format that cheerfully admits it may run much longer than planned. The appeal is not just the facts. It is the process of getting to them together. HistoCast suits listeners who want historical context, Spanish perspectives, military and political detail, and a panel that can be funny without treating grave subjects lightly.
Made for: For Spanish-speaking listeners who like military history, political history, and historical travel with plenty of context. It also fits teachers, students, and curious non-specialists who prefer conversational explanation over formal lectures.
What sets it apart: HistoCast combines long-form table talk with unusually concrete historical routes: battle plans, bunkers, medieval courts, museum spaces, and classroom-ready stories. Its strength is the way it lets uncertainty, correction, and side comments remain visible while still guiding the listener through complex material.
In their own words
