About Dev Interrupted

Dev Interrupted is a technically fluent software-development show focused on the AI turn in engineering. It watches the space where developer tools, model capabilities, organizational pressure, and day-to-day workflow collide. The pace is fast. Episodes often begin with a current story, then widen into the operational question beneath it: what this means for pull requests, security, review quality, platform reliability, or the developer experience. The show gives special attention to agentic coding and orchestration. Google cracking down on back-button hijacking becomes a way to talk about spammy web behavior and agents navigating an internet that was not built for them. Obsidian, Claude desktop, Git repos, and personal artifacts become a discussion about memory, retrieval, and the risk of trusting an assistant that only appears to understand a person's whole context. Model news gets similar treatment. Talk of Claude Mythos leads into benchmark literacy, cybersecurity concerns, and the shrinking time between frontier-model leaps. The show also tracks the commercial and social texture of AI tooling. Ads or tips appearing near pull requests are treated as a trust problem, not just a product hiccup. Token pricing, off-hours compute, outages, and overloaded platforms become signs of a new infrastructure rhythm around AI-assisted work. Interviews give the analysis a builder's frame. Matt Boyle's appearance centers on agent-ready workspaces, enterprise environments, and the idea of safe, disposable places for AI to operate. Zach Lloyd's return brings terminal workflows, Warp, Oz, GitHub strain, and orchestration into the same conversation. Benchmark episodes connect AI adoption to engineering productivity and delivery outcomes, especially through LinearBee's report and pull-request-level measurement. The show can be playful, but its questions stay practical. It is interested in where AI helps, where it shifts the bottleneck, and where teams may fool themselves with usage metrics instead of real delivery signals. That makes Dev Interrupted especially useful for developers, engineering leaders, and tool builders who already understand the vocabulary but want sharper judgment about what the new stack is doing to the craft.

Made for: For software developers, engineering leaders, DevEx teams, and tool builders tracking AI-assisted coding, orchestration, benchmarks, and productivity. It assumes comfort with modern software culture while still explaining emerging ideas clearly.

What sets it apart: Dev Interrupted stands out by translating fast AI-tooling news into engineering consequences: pull requests, review trust, workspace design, security, and team metrics. It blends news-roundup urgency with interviews from people building the tools under discussion.
