Crossing Streams

Crossing Streams is a streaming-TV review show with the feel of a standing conversation among people who watch closely and remember the details. It is casual, but it is not careless. Craig Elston and Chris Reid appear repeatedly in the recent episodes, moving between current-season coverage, yearly lists, platform value debates, and production-side interviews. The show is comfortable staying with one messy dramatic beat until the stakes are clear. Its Industry episodes are a good example. They track character motive, class performance, family power, financial crime, sexual compromise, public collapse, and the way one scene can suddenly reframe a whole season. The commentary can be sharp. It can also be goofy within seconds. That switch is part of the rhythm. One episode may parse Yasmin, Harper, Eric Tau, Whitney Albelstrom, and Moritz Bowers; another may pivot to Shorzy, Wonder Man, or the logistics of television swag. The show also makes space for broader discovery, including top-ten lists and a platform-by-platform review with Drew Steck. Those episodes are less about recapping a single plot and more about how households actually use Netflix, Disney Plus, HBO, and the rest. A conversation with production coordinator Christi Sotomayor adds a different layer, moving behind the curtain to below-the-line production work and the strange, charming realities of The Muppet Show. Crossing Streams works best for listeners who like spoiler-heavy criticism delivered in a familiar cadence. The speakers are opinionated, funny, and willing to say when a story turn does not work. They also care about craft: acting, pacing, practical effects, CGI, production culture, and the difference between a show that merely moves and one that leaves a mark.
