How to Use AI and Automation on LinkedIn Without Getting Banned

·19 min
Michelle J. Raymond revisits AI and automation on LinkedIn. She says the tools can help scale your impact, but only when teams know where useful help ends and brand damage starts. Last year AI was all the rage; this year the hype has cooled and marketers are trying to work out where these tools actually fit. There are now many AI tools, and there is also pressure inside companies to adopt them for productivity. Her concern is that adoption without judgment becomes a liability. She is wary of spam and other shortcuts: tools that scrape LinkedIn data, flood inboxes with unwanted messages, auto-send event invites, or push newsletters and messages people never signed up for. Those tactics are not just annoying; she says they run against local laws and LinkedIn's rules. LinkedIn is not the hero here. Raymond says the platform wants people inside its own products, including Sales Navigator, even if it does not fully replace CRM-style automation tools. The real risk is personal, because an account belongs to the person using it. A bad recommendation can put a CEO's account, reputation, and even their job at risk. She does not assume bad intent. Her point is that ignorance of the user agreement can still leave marketers playing a game of Russian roulette with someone else's account. Her answer is policy. She wants teams to keep an AI social media policy and a list of approved tools that can help with safe, useful tasks. The payoff should be human: use the time saved to build content, connections, and community rather than more noise.
