Episode II: Inventa

August 8, 2018·18 min·1 clip
Vespucci is electrocuted and his heart stops, forcing Eberhardt to perform CPR to save him.
The episode opens with a recap of the group's awakening in the pod bay and their first steps outside it. Armstrong establishes a more cooperative relationship with the computer, getting it to address them by name and drop formal designation language. The group discovers there is no exit from Nova Station and that the computer will not explain what Project Nova is. Exploring a dark hallway, they find a kitchen stocked with canned food but no power. The computer reveals there are living quarters and a power router down the hall. Each subject's room has a palm-print lock and is pre-fitted with clothes in their size, which unsettles several of them. Armstrong raises a key detail: the rooms are spotless despite the air filtration supposedly being down. Batuta initially dismisses it, but Armstrong notes that dust accumulates from fibers and dirt regardless of people. The group theorizes the station has been deliberately maintained. Armstrong and Vespucci go to fix the power router while the others explore. In the workshop, Vespucci demonstrates unexplained knowledge of every piece of equipment, including a 3D printer, and quickly identifies the parts needed. When Armstrong asks how he knows this, he has no answer, comparing it to how she fixed a pod earlier. After leaving Vespucci alone briefly to notify the others, Armstrong returns to find him unconscious. He has been electrocuted by an arc during the repair, and his heart has stopped. Eberhardt performs CPR and revives him. She discovers he has burned fingertips and likely cracked ribs. Vespucci recovers enough to confirm the power repair worked anyway. Armstrong notes they should never leave anyone alone again. While Vespucci rests, Armstrong and Batuta discover an infirmary and then a room with multiple active computer terminals. Armstrong accesses the data and calls everyone to see it, stating she now knows where they are.
