From Nightlife to Life Science: Building Community and Strategic Narratives

·40 min·1 clip
COVID cancelled our physical conference. So we asked: what if we did 25 sessions in one week instead?
Apista Life Sciences comes first. Pierce describes a life-science consultancy and advisory firm that works across clinical quality, regulatory, commercial, and technology needs, with tool partnerships such as Viva and others. That gives Chris a useful setup: before a specialist firm can market itself well, it has to know where it sits and what story it is trying to tell. The event section is the liveliest part. Pierce looks back at a trial master file event that worked because it stayed focused, moved quickly, and did not pretend to be a polished conference hall on a screen. Other conferences were busy rebuilding booths, banners, exhibit halls, advertising space, and one-to-one sales rep chat. His team put the weight on education, topics, and speakers instead. That choice gave the program a cleaner job. It built brand recognition and awareness first, then gave the team a reason to look at interesting accounts and possible sales conversations afterward. Chris then turns the discussion toward narrative. Repurposing an event or podcast is one thing; shaping the business story is harder. Pierce is careful with that difference. A value proposition may be familiar business language, but it can feel flat without a story behind it. The practical point keeps coming back: a tactic only earns its keep when it has the right objective and a believable path to business value.
