The Wymondham Men

April 14, 2025·34 min·3 clips
A jar of eggs opens the whole thing badly. Jim and Charlie arrive by water after a rough landing and immediately start bickering over ten pounds and basic survival. The Isle of Somerville is cut off from the modern world, but apples keep the place going and the next harvest is due around midsummer. They mean to help with a missing-child problem, until the child in question turns out to be right there. Nicole insists she is not missing, and her father says the same. The photo they are shown points them toward Rowan, who is safe and out in the summer fields. The answers stay polite, circular, and only partly useful. A language slip like "playing with the airs" makes the whole exchange wobble further. Meanwhile, the apple shortage has forced a local rebrand into a chocolate shop. Jim and Charlie keep treating the situation like it almost makes sense, while the island keeps refusing to explain itself cleanly. By the end, the conversation turns toward whiskey and a very direct push to watch The Wicker Man, and that becomes the destination whether anyone asked for it or not.

Apples, missing-child confusion, and a deadpan folk-horror detour.

On the Isle of Somerville, two men are left to sort out apples, a missing-child case, and a trail of confusion that keeps veering into a chocolate shop and back into family misdirection.
