Santa Fe podcasts, explained

Podcast coverage of Santa Fe divides quickly into two useful lanes: present-day civic life and a sharply focused historical narrative. Beyond those, the city is usually a setting, an institutional home, or a passing reference. There is little sustained portraiture here, so listeners should not expect an all-purpose cultural guide.

Civic Santa Fe, one issue at a time

Beyond County Lines offers the clearest contemporary route in. Santa Fe Fiesta: Honoring Tradition Through Dialogue approaches the city through a public tradition and the conversations surrounding it. Santa Fe Water: Today and Tomorrow turns to a practical question with a longer horizon. Together, the episodes make Santa Fe sound like a place best understood issue by issue, through people working out what should endure and what needs attention.

The show’s wider regional interest appears in Changing the Odds: Harm Reduction in Northern New Mexico. That title reaches beyond Santa Fe itself, but it helps define the scale at which the program operates: city concerns sit inside a broader northern New Mexico conversation.

A city inside a larger history

For historical listening, The History of the Americans has the strongest single sequence. Begin with The Pueblo Revolt of 1680 1: The Kindling of War, which establishes the conflict, before moving to The Pueblo Revolt of 1680 2: The Siege of Santa Fe and the Flight to El Paso. Santa Fe becomes central in the second title, with the city treated as a site of siege and flight rather than as background scenery.

This is the most narrative-driven option available. It also demands the most commitment: the Santa Fe episode is explicitly the second part of a developing story, and starting there means arriving after the kindling.

When Santa Fe is the address

Some feeds connected with the city rarely make Santa Fe their subject. Christ Church Santa Fe, for example, is a sermon podcast whose episode titles point toward scripture and pastoral teaching: Psalm | The King of Glory (8.18.24), James | Faith Without Works | Rev. Greg Schneeberger |10.19.25, and Matthew | Strong Security, New Family | 4.12.26 | Rev. Greg Schneeberger. The place name identifies the congregation; it does not turn those episodes into city coverage.

The same distinction matters with local and statewide current-affairs shows. The KKOB Morning Briefing uses date-stamped editions such as Morning Briefing June 10th, 2025 and Morning Briefing May 28th, 2025. Its compact local-news format may contain Santa Fe mentions, but the titles offer no reliable path to a focused episode.

The Forum with Jim Falk comes closer to relevant regional context through Immigration in New Mexico: Law, Fear, and Community and Two Conversations: Remembrance and the Governor’s Race. Those are New Mexico conversations with potential implications for Santa Fe, though neither promises a city-led discussion. University Showcase likewise supplies cultural context with New Mexico Chicano art finds new life through exhibit and research and New poetry anthology highlights voices from around New Mexico. Listen to these for the state around Santa Fe, not for a dedicated account of the city.

Where to start

Choose Santa Fe Water: Today and Tomorrow for a concrete civic issue, or Santa Fe Fiesta: Honoring Tradition Through Dialogue for coverage centered on tradition and public conversation. For history, take the two-part route from The Pueblo Revolt of 1680 1: The Kindling of War into The Pueblo Revolt of 1680 2: The Siege of Santa Fe and the Flight to El Paso.
