The guide

How Premier League podcasts differ, and which to try

On a bad Monday, a good Premier League podcast does two things at once. It explains why your back four kept splitting, and it lets you hear someone else be every bit as cross about it. This year the argument around these shows is about what the conversation is for. In July 2026, Insider Sport reported that The Rest Is Football would add two weekly Netflix editions while the podcast continued. In August 2026, Disney+ acquired distribution rights to The Overlap. Listeners are divided too. Some prize presenter chemistry, others ask whether the running time carries enough substance, and supporters of smaller clubs want coverage that reaches the whole table.

The shows below answer a narrower question: which room do you want to sit in after your team plays? For a wider net, try the Soccer guide and the Sports category guide.

One club, turned up or down

Son of Chelsea is Daniel Childs working through Chelsea at a measured pace. In KEEP? LOAN? SELL? | Deciding Who at Chelsea Should STAY or GO? he audits the squad player by player. On the midfield he commits: "I would rather keep Enzo Fernandez."

Straight Outta Cobham: The Athletic FC's Chelsea show brings a panel and a drier tone to the same club. In 22-23 déjà vu, anyone? Is 25-26 going down the same sorry road? one panellist produces a centre-back spreadsheet. By that panellist's tentative manual count, Chelsea used 10 combinations in 30 games under Maresca and 13 in 19 under Rosenior. The episode also covers the women's team and the WSL table; for that league in depth, see the Women's Soccer page.

Talkin' Kop leaves the volume up. What Is The Plan ?? | Sunday Night Kop asks each guest what they would do about the manager and the squad, with the live chat chipping in. It runs 112 minutes, and near the end a host admits "an hour and 46 minutes is way too long." Same Old Arsenal Podcast has similar heat with more weary humour. In Are we the Villians now ? - Aston Villa v Arsenal match reaction show, a host's rant settles on one line: "Nothing is won in December."

Some club shows stretch the format. Noisy Neighbors Podcast - Manchester City, hosted by Joey McHugh and Mark Mulvaney, mixes City talk with sketch comedy. Noti Frenzy features a mock call-in celebrating a Leeds win at Old Trafford. For The Love of Paul McGrath: An Aston Villa Podcast shows what a club show can do away from match reaction. Claret, Blue & Green with Dave Woodhall is a long conversation about Irish players at Villa, down to Con Martin's last trip to Villa Park. On Handbrake Off: The Athletic FC's Arsenal show, Max Dowman: Game changer catches a panellist saying simply, "I cried."

The whole league at one table

If you want the weekend as a whole, two fan-run shows range across the league. The Lion and the Cannon Podcast is two friends, American fans split between Arsenal and Chelsea. The Battle of the Etihad Loading walks through results and score predictions, with plenty of needling about Spurs and the relegation fight.

Lads On The Sideline Podcast is a father, Vincent, and his sons Sean and Conor. Manchester United sits at its centre, but Episode 33 - Arsenals bottle beginning to crack? ranges across Chelsea's troubles and Arsenal's run-in. Their Episode 43 - World Cup, Transfers, Man United turns to the tournament, a thread the World Cup & International page picks up.

Fantasy football, between deadlines

Fantasy Premier League has the most shows, and they differ more in temperament than in topic.

Sky Sports Fantasy Podcast, with James Savundra and Mark Briggs, is the tidiest. In FPL Gameweek 33 | Biggest 'Double' Gameweek of the season, its advice to managers caught short is to think ahead to gameweek 34. FPL Pod mixes deadline planning with friendly sparring between its hosts. The Green Arrow FPL Podcast, with Rich Clarke and Fergi, is candid about its own errors. In FPL Double Gameweek 33 Preview | The Green Arrow Podcast | Fantasy Premier League 2025/26, a host recounts switching between Hinshelwood, Gros and Mitoma again and again before a deadline, only for Mitoma to be benched.

The rowdier end swears freely. On FML FPL - Fantasy Premier League Podcast, a host uses GW32 Break: Nothing Matters Until It Does to sum up the game: "Even good weeks feel like bad weeks in this wonderful game that we play." The FPL JUiCE Show – Fantasy Premier League Podcast turns refereeing into a "VAR courtroom" with its guests as the jury in Gameweek 33 | FPL 24/25 | Ft. Trophy FPL & FPL Cim. Bantah Boyz serves a different game, draft leagues on Fantrax. In Ep. 309 - GW33: Tiki Tanaka its hosts read out the week's leaders in tackles, clearances and aerials.
