Coverage of Newfoundland and Labrador in the PlayNext corpus is thin: seven shows, all of them made about the province rather than merely mentioning it. Music, history and community

Sounds Atlantic, hosted by Ron Moores, is an Atlantic Canadian folk and roots show rather than a strictly Newfoundland one, but it returns to the province regularly — a two-part remembrance of musician Mark Hiscock, sets on East Coast songwriters and ECMA winners. It has by far the deepest back catalogue here, around 500 episodes.

Down to Sally's Cove is a reading project: Antony Berger reads his mother Ella Manuel's Newfoundland stories, with titles like "Sparbles, Saveloys and Scroopy Boots" and "The Ghost of Dorman's Cove". 709 Watershed is narrower still — Darren Sheppard interviewing people connected to the Indian Bay Watershed about green crab research, bird photography, conservation projects and backcountry cottages. Weekend AM, CBC Radio One's province-wide weekend programme, covers culture and creative people across Newfoundland and Labrador.
