The rundown

Some great Golf podcasts to get to know

A golf week has more than one ending. There is the Sunday putt. There is the Monday argument about what it meant. And there is the Tuesday evening when you stand on a range wondering why your own seven-iron never looks like that. Golf podcasts have grown up around all three. At their best they make a tour crisis legible, give a college player half an hour to describe the run-up to Augusta, or keep you company while you replay your own triple bogey.

The range keeps widening. In October 2026, AP's published Apple Podcasts US Top New Shows list placed 3 Putt Bogey with Chuck and Adam at No. 10. It is a new show built around two hosts trying to improve their own games. It arrives in a broad listening habit: Edison's March 2026 Infinite Dial presentation reported 58% monthly podcast consumption in the US, a figure for podcasts generally rather than golf.

What listeners argue about most is tone. Some want hard scrutiny of the tours. Others hear the same discussion as relentless gloom. Some enjoy odds and picks, while others want golf talk without a wager attached. Neither side is wrong. The useful question is which conversation you want in your ears this week.

When the news is still moving

When the professional game lurches, the quickest shows earn their place. Golf Channel Podcast with Rex & Lav, from GolfChannel.com writers Rex Hoggard and Ryan Lavner, released Is LIV Golf dead? Breaking down its uncertain future on April 16, 2026, while the story was still breaking. One host describes a player texting that the Mexico City course was closed for the pro-am. In the same half-minute, their producer got a message from a caddie on the range. The episode describes the day as 15 hours of speculation, then works through what a collapse might mean for players hoping to return to the PGA Tour.

This Week In Golf is the soloist's version, with more radio heat. In the April 15, 2026 episode on Rory McIlroy's Masters win, Chris McKee mocks Bryson DeChambeau for praising Augusta's phone ban after bringing Kevin Hart as his Par 3 caddie: "How rich is that?" The episode two weeks earlier, This Week In Golf - April 1, 2026 - Tiger Woods arrested for DUI + Interview with Red Harrington, plays the sheriff's press conference before the host's sharply personal reaction. It is commentary on an arrest announced days earlier, not a verdict.

For a panel, NUCLR GOLF Podcast recorded RORY MCILROY'S STUNNING 65 AT AUGUSTA + LUKE KWON INTERVIEW! after the second round. Part of it reacts to the round, and part is a conversation with a YouTube creator about the logistics of filming golf. Any Given Monday, from Monday Q Info's Ryan French, looks further down the field. The Masters Preview sorts contenders into categories such as "Sensational Southpaws," and one voice predicts Corey Conners will win at Augusta one day, "and it might be this year." The PGA Tour & Pro Golf page goes deeper.

Watching along, arguing along

Some shows don't analyse the tournament so much as watch it beside you. The Knackered Golfist Podcast does literal live narration. TKG Ep. 144 Final Round at 2026 Masters is 71 minutes of a host calling shots off the broadcast, rooting aloud for Justin Rose and bickering with "Mr. Producer." Near the end of his 2025 Players commentary, he wonders whether this might be "my audition tape for maybe doing some golf commentary." It is chaotic and affectionate, and no use to anyone who wants analysis.

The group-chat shows offer a similar kind of company with more voices. The Tee Time Tribe, started by Florida State alumni, reacts in Lowry's Collapse at PGA National + Arnold Palmer Invitational to Shane Lowry's swing on the 16th tee with a weekend golfer's recognition: "Seen it. Done it. Like, relatable."

Tom & Tom Golf Podcast pairs publisher Tom Poljak with PGA professional Tom Beeler. In T&T Golf Podcast, Episode 102 - Big Congrats to one of the Boyz Favorites!, Beeler admits he timed a player's pre-shot routine on his DVR at three minutes and 52 seconds. He then phoned a rules official, who asked whether he had money riding on it. He did.

Swing It And Ding It anchors its tour talk in Philadelphia. In Swing It & Ding It: Episode 260, Carl of Philly Golf Graham names his Mount Rushmore of local courses. For more of this register across other sports, try the Sports Talk guide.

Long conversations with people in the game

Interview shows trade speed for depth. The Back of the Range, hosted by Ben Adelberg, lives in amateur and college golf.

  • In Ethan Fang - British Amateur Champion, recorded weeks before the Masters, Fang admits he doesn't hit many range balls and practises best by playing.
  • In The Back of the Range's Billy Hurley III - Folds of Honor Collegiate Preview, Hurley remembers how quickly a Walker Cup glow fades, because "golf is what have you done for me lately."

Women of Golf, with Ted Odorico and LPGA professional Cindy Miller, follows the women's tours with unhurried curiosity. Women of Golf: Season 13 Episode 6 | Kaleiya Romero's transition from college golfer to Epson Tour meets a first-year professional who also works as an assistant coach. She once caddied at Augusta Women's National for a player leading after two rounds, and her stated goal is a top-15 finish and an LPGA card.

Beyond the Clubhouse gives tour players room to reflect. In Ep 233: Mark Wilson on fatherhood advice and being a rookie on PGA Tour Champions, Wilson explains, "I really have to be OK with missing it." On Grilling At The Green, Jeff Tracy draws similar candour from Caroline Inglis, a former LPGA Tour player who misses competing and the camaraderie but not the rental cars.

Other shows widen the lens beyond players:

  • Off the Deck: Josh Decker's Rustic Golf Provisions with Aaron Schrank follows a Rhode Island community-college math professor laser-cutting bag tags in his garage.
  • The Cart Barn Podcast: this Alabama show turns golf history into a business story in The Golf Channel Origin Story: Del Wood on Arnold Palmer & The Network That Changed Sports Media. It runs from a pitch to Palmer at the Birmingham airport to a stock deal with Comcast.

Getting better, and staying in one piece

For your own game, start with the Golf Instruction page, then try these.

Pivot The Path is the bluntest of them. Scott Young, a PGA professional and former tour player, argues in EP 114: Why Your Mechanics Control Your Ball Flight that launch-monitor data can mask an over-the-top swing. He also walks through the backswing sequence he teaches, roughly club, arms, then thoracic spine. His opinions are strong, so expect to agree or bristle.

Chasing Scratch: A Golf Podcast is the long amateur saga, two friends chasing one goal. S9 Ep 0: Previously, on Chasing Scratch replays the project from its first recording on August 20, 2017, including a 2019 moment when one host rates his overall feeling of possibility at zero. Lemonade (feat. Sasho Mackenzie) turns to injuries; the guest estimates roughly 75 to 80 percent come from overuse.

Fairway Fit Golf Podcast offers the same striving at weekend scale. In S2, Episode #23 (#48)- The Final Major, its hosts file on-course updates as the wind takes their round apart.

Picks, prices and the betting conversation

Betting talk is its own job, and worth choosing deliberately. Playing the Tips, from two self-described tipsters, combines course notes with the selections. 155: U.S. Open Preview + Best Bets covers Shinnecock's architecture and green speeds, and along the way one host recalls an each-way ticket on Jackson Suber at 125 to one.

Listen for the reasoning, not as advice. Tour form is unpredictable, and these are hosts' opinions. Even Tom & Tom Golf Podcast put the doubt in a title: T&T Golf Podcast, Episode 123 - Is Betting On Golf Silly? The Golf Betting & Picks page gathers more, and the Sports Betting and Fantasy Sports guides cover the wider field.

  • For a long amateur story: Chasing Scratch: A Golf Podcast, S9 Ep 0: Previously, on Chasing Scratch.

Post-Masters week

The week after the Masters generates a concentrated content cycle across golf podcasting: Augusta-recap episodes dominate the major shows; LIV / PGA Tour structural conversations resurface. April 2026 episodes on this slate are mostly in this window.

LIV Golf uncertainty cycle

LIV Golf's evolving relationship with the PGA Tour produces recurring podcast attention. The arc has been ongoing since 2022; April 2026 *Golf Channel Podcast*'s *Is LIV Golf dead?* episode signals the cycle's current temperature.

Major-championship preview-recap format

Standard golf-podcast structure during the major season — preview episode the week before, recap episode the Sunday-or-Monday after. *At The Turn* and *Birdies & Bourbon* both run variants.

Amateur-pipeline interview show

Sub-genre that profiles amateur and college-golf prospects likely to turn pro. *The Back of the Range* is the slate's example; rare format in golf podcasting more broadly.

Tour-and-equipment instructional podcast

Sub-genre teaching swing mechanics and equipment-fitting. Distinct from event-coverage podcasting. *Athletic Motion Golf* is the slate's example.
