George Clooney podcasts, explained
George Clooney receives surprisingly little coverage in podcasts. There are few career-spanning retrospectives or episodes built around an extended interview with him. The strongest listening instead splits between a measured discussion of a specific film and a brisk pop-culture segment with a much wider agenda.
The substantial film conversation
The clearest place to begin is The New Yorker Radio Hour. Noah Baumbach on "Jay Kelly," His New Movie with George Clooney promises a focused conversation with Baumbach rather than a general celebrity profile. The show’s patient, formal interview style suits listeners who want to hear a filmmaker given room to discuss the work without constant banter or breathless promotion.
There is also a useful route around the same movie through Skip Intro with Krista Smith. Clooney is not the named subject of either Billy Crudup (Jay Kelly) or Laura Dern (Jay Kelly), so these should be treated as adjacent listening rather than substitutes for a dedicated episode. Together, though, they offer separate conversations tied to the film.
Clooney as a current pop-culture question
Into It: A Vulture Podcast with Sam Sanders takes the quicker, more conversational path. What Britney Reveals, and What George Clooney Wants Resolved gives Clooney only half the billing, and the title leaves the actual dispute deliberately open. Expect a topical discussion shaped by questions, reactions and editorial argument, rather than a slow examination of one project.
That distinction matters. The New Yorker Radio Hour makes Clooney part of a filmmaker-led discussion; Into It places him inside a broader entertainment conversation. One is the better fit for craft and context. The other is for listeners who like celebrity news turned into a lively argument.
Where the trail fades
Beyond those episodes, Clooney mostly appears in passing. Revisionist History’s The Sony Hack: Mistakes Part 1 may provide an industry setting for a mention, but its stated subject lies elsewhere. Lydia’s Lunch Bunch is looser still: Tasting Tales with Casamigos Margarita is a local-radio-style food-and-drink conversation, not a sustained Clooney discussion.
Other mentions are buried in episodes whose titles concern unrelated films, relationships, politics, science or entertainment. They may reward listeners already interested in those shows, but they are poor starting points for anyone specifically seeking George Clooney coverage.
Where to start
Start with The New Yorker Radio Hour’s Noah Baumbach on "Jay Kelly," His New Movie with George Clooney for the most concentrated film discussion. Follow it with Into It’s What Britney Reveals, and What George Clooney Wants Resolved for a faster pop-culture treatment. If the film itself is your interest, continue with Skip Intro’s Billy Crudup (Jay Kelly) and Laura Dern (Jay Kelly).
