Lucid futures, argued in public.
The gist
Vlan! treats current transformations as political and moral questions, not just trends. Solo episodes and guest conversations move from AI, capitalism, public money, sovereignty, and attention toward the harder question of what people can still change together.

About Vlan!
Vlan! is built around a deceptively simple editorial question: how can the future remain desirable when the present gives so many reasons for distrust? The show answers by looking directly at the systems that shape daily life. It is not a gadget show, a policy seminar, or a self-help feed, though it borrows pieces from all three when useful. Its real territory is transformation. AI becomes a question of capital, regulation, sovereignty, and symbolic power. Public money becomes a way to ask who actually benefits from economic policy. Time becomes political once permanent availability, smartphones, workplace demands, and optimization culture begin to blur the line between living and producing. The show is often serious. It is rarely cold. Solo episodes move with the structure of an editorial essay, defining a concept like alienation before tying it to phones in the bedroom, productivity language, sleep tracking, and the quiet loss of private time. Interviews bring in named guests and then keep steering the conversation back toward systems rather than personality. With Nicolas Framont, class mobility and capitalism become questions about hope, resentment, and the assumptions made about ordinary people. With Caroline Michel Aguirre, employment numbers, savings rates, poverty, and public subsidies are treated as parts of one economic argument. With Gilles Babinet, digital sovereignty and AI scenarios open onto debates about productivity, China, the United States, and the limits of technological panic. The show has a recurring civic instinct. It wants listeners to name what is happening without surrendering to alarmism. That tension gives Vlan! its identity: lucid, sometimes grave, still searching for collective doors that have not yet closed.
Made for: Vlan! is for French-speaking listeners who want serious but accessible analysis of technology, economics, politics, work, and social change. It especially suits people who prefer structured arguments over quick takes.
What sets it apart: The show combines essay-like solo episodes with interviews that keep turning personal examples into systemic questions. Its optimism is conditional and demanding, grounded in power, policy, and collective responsibility rather than feel-good futurism.
