Toros con el Soro

Toros con el Soro is a weekly Spanish radio-style chronicle of tauromaquia. It carries the texture of a live desk rather than a polished documentary. Commercial openings, jingles, greetings, and sponsor-style pivots frame long stretches of bullfighting talk. The show assumes its audience already knows the language of plazas, ganaderias, apoderados, toreros, novilladas, encastes, and ferias. That gives it speed. It can move from Pamplona’s San Fermin to a Sevilla promotion novillada, then across to Bilbao news, Ecuador results, Valencia galas, or a ganaderia visit with very little hand-holding. The tone is familiar and crowded. A named place is rarely just scenery; it is part of the map of the bullfighting world. Recent episodes spend time at Victorino Martin’s ganaderia, treating it as a symbolic home of the toro bravo and a place to discuss breed lines, diversity of encastes, and the work of preserving bloodlines. Other conversations linger on young toreros, training routines, respect among professionals, and the hard social currency of being accepted by fellow bullfighters. The show also tracks the business side: ruptures in apoderamiento relationships, season doubts, fair programming, and who may be positioned for the next step. It likes result sheets, but it also likes memory. Tributes to figures such as Ricardo de Fabra and references to historic bullfighters place current news inside a longer taurine lineage. The style is repetitive when it wants emphasis, and that repetition is part of its broadcast character. It can praise warmly and criticize directly. It can sound grave around memorials, injuries, or losses, then swing back to congratulations, local color, and event promotion. The show is best for listeners who want the living weekly pulse of bullfighting culture, not an introductory explainer. Its energy comes from accumulation: names, towns, ganaderias, results, opinions, and the sense that the audience is already in the room.
