Sláger FM

Sláger FM’s Sláger Kult segments turn a music station into a fast-moving room for Hungarian cultural conversation. The show is built around interviews, with one main questioning voice guiding guests through what they are making and why it matters. It is warm first. Then it gets practical. A rock musician can talk about standing on the same Zurich stage where Kiss once played, and the conversation quickly moves into band members, new songs, lyrics, and the feeling of finally pushing a dream into real space. An exhibition discussion can begin with Gyarmati Tihamér’s place in abstract painting, then widen into research, private collections, African masks, far-eastern objects, workshops, tours, and what a visitor might actually see. Literature is treated the same way. Valuska László’s Margó conversation turns festival programming into a map of celebrations, readings, music, and named artists, not just a vague tribute to books. The show also makes room for less expected cultural angles. Hompot Bálint and Jellen Kornél discuss Clivora through microphones, noise reduction, consultation records, and the goal of giving doctors more attention for patients. Bán Teodóra brings theatre and opera into focus through Margitsziget, staging pressure, foreign stars, and the unseen legal and agency work behind an evening’s experience. Éliás Gyula’s segment connects songs, teaching, talent development, performance memory, and the emotional force of love songs. Oszoli Nikolett’s fashion interview follows a one-year planning process toward a runway event on ice, with skaters, lighting, sound, dinner seating, and Székesfehérvár details all part of the story. The show’s rhythm is conversational rather than polished flat. Short prompts open long explanations. Admiration sits beside clarification. It cares about creators, but it also cares about the machinery around them: venues, collaborators, dates, websites, audiences, and the moment when an idea becomes an event. That makes it a good fit for listeners who like culture with names, places, and a bit of backstage texture.
