About ScamWow

ScamWow is a scam-comedy show with a restless motor. It is built around Caitlin Brodnick’s fascination with the mechanics of cons, but its real charge comes from how quickly ordinary life starts looking suspicious. A tangent about food culture can become a story about a social media influencer, copied recipes, and a strange credit-card-debt operation. A conversation about payment apps can turn into a sharper point about Venmo, Zelle, weak protections, and the way victims get mocked for living in an economy that constantly pushes them online. The show is funny first in rhythm, not in detachment. It keeps room for harm. Still, it is clearly entertained by the audacity of a good setup, especially when the paperwork is sloppy, the logic is bizarre, or the institution involved should absolutely know better. One episode follows a credit-card fraud case through meals, clothing, jewelry, appliances, tuition, missing receipts, and handwritten edits that read like evidence left in plain sight. Another goes deep into Neopets, where broken infrastructure, old accounts, stolen data, and a black-market etiquette system create a tiny internet economy of chaos. The show also likes scam-adjacent culture. Movie episodes on Weekend at Bernie's and The Eyes of Tammy Faye use films as loose launchpads for jokes about money, religion, performance, and what counts as a con when everyone seems to be playing along. Guests shape the weather of each episode. Priya Patel and Chet Siegel bring food, culture, and influencer absurdity into the room. Ariel Elias helps turn a money-app story into a broader conversation about shame and online transactions. D'Artagnan Williams gives the show a former con artist’s view of stolen identities, documents, diamonds, and resale networks. Suni Reyes and Corinne Caputo push the movie conversations toward broader comic riffs. The structure can be gloriously inefficient. That is part of the point. ScamWow does not sound like a case file being read aloud; it sounds like someone spotted a loose thread in capitalism and invited funny people over to pull it. The tone is irreverent, warm, and occasionally grave when the story calls for it. It is best for listeners who like their fraud stories conversational, skeptical, and full of detours that somehow become evidence.

Made for: For comedy listeners who like scams, strange internet economies, payment-app paranoia, and guest conversations that wander before landing the point. It also fits true-crime fans who want con stories without grim procedural weight.

What sets it apart: ScamWow finds scam logic in places other shows might treat as side chatter: recipe drama, pet-store errands, broken websites, movie plots, receipts, and awkward money transfers. Its strength is making the mechanics of fraud feel social, absurd, and uncomfortably familiar.

In their own words

Scammers, swindlers, con artists: unethical rogues who should be brought to justice? Or brilliant players in the game of capitalism that can help you get a free mattress? Comedian and author Caitlin Brodnick can’t always decide. Each week, join Caitlin and a special guest as they dive into current and historic scams, from skillful mobsters to Real Housewives fraudsters, from MLMs to YouTube grifters. Together, they’ll explore the thin line between swindle and survival, between fleecing an easy mark and just launching a startup. Listen and embrace the art of the dupe with true crime’s less-disturbing sister: the true con.

As heard by us

Based on 5 episodes we listened to · August 2026

ScamWow turns fraud stories into loose, funny conversations driven by Caitlin Brodnick, chatty guests, and oddly practical scam mechanics.

ScamWow belongs in Comedy because the scams are never just case files. They are excuses for a loose, curious room where Caitlin Brodnick and her guests pick at fraud until the social machinery starts to show.
