About Radar: Amplificando ecos de otro mundos

Radar is a Spanish-language international news magazine from Radio JGM with a clear Latin American orientation. It treats global affairs as lived politics, not scenery. The show’s episodes move through countries, institutions, protests, budgets, and rights conflicts with a brisk editorial rhythm. A segment may begin with Argentine scientists paying for laboratory supplies themselves, then broaden into the political conditions threatening public research. Another may start with health as an everyday vulnerability and end in the collision between budget cuts, misinformation, access, and democracy. The frame is never detached. Radar is openly concerned with rights, public goods, and the damage caused when authoritarian habits or private priorities overtake social protection. Its rotating voices use a newsroom structure: set the scene, state the stakes, bring in testimony or expert context, then return to the wider political meaning. The show has covered Palestine, Gaza, Ukraine, Venezuela, Chile, Argentina, Spain, Morocco, Madagascar, Nepal, Mexico, and other points on a restless international map. It pays attention to people who are often reduced to categories: trans communities facing discrimination, autistic people navigating stigma, young protesters demanding basic services, and patients caught between public systems and private cost. It also tracks how democratic conviction weakens when force, misinformation, or cuts become normal. There is urgency, but not spectacle. The pacing is fast because the show is built for accumulation: figures, examples, names, consequences. Its perspective is solidary and sometimes indignant, especially around police response, discrimination, Palestine, and the erosion of rights. Radar’s best use is for listeners who want international news interpreted through social struggle and regional consequence. It is not a neutral headline digest. It is a politically situated field report on a world under pressure.

Made for: For Spanish-speaking listeners who follow international politics through public health, democracy, social movements, climate, and human rights. It especially suits audiences who prefer Latin American framing over distant institutional summaries.

What sets it apart: Radar stands out by joining newsroom pace with an explicit rights-and-resistance perspective. It connects global events to local consequences without pretending that policy, violence, and inequality are neutral forces.
