About Nashville Restaurant Radio
Nashville Restaurant Radio is a community dispatch from inside Nashville restaurants. Its center of gravity is not recipes or restaurant criticism, but the people who run, staff, supply, close, reopen, and worry over local food businesses. The show is busy by design. A typical episode may start with an extended sponsor read for a bakery, linen company, drink marketplace, cleaning supplier, insurance contact, or beverage brand before landing in a conversational interview with a chef or owner. That rhythm gives it a trade-floor feel, where business leads, personal testimony, community announcements, and jokes share the same table. Brandon Still is clearly named as host in the episodes, and his presence shapes the show into something warm, informal, and locally accountable. He repeats details. He plugs events. He asks about the room, the staff, the closing, the schedule, the spouse, the stress, and the reason a person stayed in the industry. Some conversations are celebratory, like discussions of Homegrown Taproom & Kitchen’s warm room, beer garden, flags, staff, and regulars. Others are harder. Nick Guidry’s episode around the closing of Pelican & Pig gives space to the owner’s decision and the staff members connected to the restaurant’s final days. Mental health also appears without distance, including talk about ADHD, bipolar disorder, therapy, medication limits, and the work of figuring out personal patterns. The show is most distinctive when it lets those topics sit beside ordinary restaurant concerns such as sponsors, traffic, revenue, bar programs, bread, linen pricing, craft beer, and multiple streams of income. It sounds like a local industry circle checking on itself in public. There is polish in the intent, but not always in the shape. The pacing can be rapid, crowded, and sponsor-heavy, with long stretches of repeated details and quick pivots from business logistics to personal reflection. That looseness is part of the appeal for the right listener. Nashville Restaurant Radio rewards people who care about the restaurant ecosystem as a working community, from Bryan O'Kelly at Husk and Jason Laiacona at Miel to Hunter Briley at The Emeraude Bakery, Carey Bringle at Peg Leg Porker, Tony and Caroline Galzin at Nicky’s Coal Fired, Nick Guidry at Pelican & Pig, and Robin and Jennifer at Homegrown Taproom & Kitchen. It is best for restaurant people, sponsors, regulars, and Nashville locals who want the names behind the storefronts. The show’s value is proximity. It keeps the conversation close enough to hear the worry, pride, gratitude, and practical hustle behind the city’s restaurant life.
Made for: Built for Nashville restaurant people, owners, sponsors, regulars, and locals who care about the businesses behind the city’s food scene. It also suits listeners interested in the human side of entrepreneurship, closures, staffing, and community loyalty.
What sets it apart: The show works less like a food podcast and more like an industry room with a live microphone. Its mix of chef and owner interviews, sponsor roll calls, local event plugs, and candid personal turns gives it a grounded Nashville texture.
In their own words
This is a podcast made for and about the people of the Nashville Restaurant community. Our goal is to gain others perspectives and learn from their experiences. Listen for interviews with Chefs, Restauranteurs, authors, industry leaders, and much more! This is not a podcast where we talk about food, we talk about food people.
