Starting Again: Burnout, Leadership, and Compassion in Critical Care with Dr Kerrianne HuynhNov 19, 2025

A candid critical-care episode on burnout, bias, and the ICU memory that helped restore professional confidence.

Burnout in critical care is treated as part of a long professional life, not a tidy comeback arc. The intensivist looks back on a difficult stretch, then follows that into fellowship, simulation leadership, and mentorship.

Clinical Pearls Ep 12 - DRSABCD and the Primary SurveyJul 28, 2024

A clear, practical episode on primary survey thinking, breathing assessment, and oxygen escalation.

This episode sets ICU and anaesthetics nursing alongside each other, with Brad drawing on anaesthetics and earlier ICU work while Alicia brings a current ICU view from Barwon Health.

The World of Intensive Care Medicine with Dr Mikaela RokickiJul 4, 2023

A grounded ICU episode about continuity, procedures, families, and clinical growth.

Critical care is framed here as a specialty built on continuity: returning to patients, adjusting plans, and keeping families in the room alongside procedures. Dr.

A candid, practical look at emergency medicine, shift work, teaching, and the outside life that helps sustain the work.

Emergency medicine comes through as a career shaped by interruption, handover, and the discipline of stepping away. Deb Leach describes a working life built around Monday shifts, Tuesday evenings, weekends, on-call pressure, and a brief trial of senior consultants taking…
