New music with scene-level context.
The gist
Esto Sí Suena treats songs as part of a living map: Caracas, Tucumán, Colombia, Peru, Mexico, the UK, and the United States all enter the same radio flow. It balances new music discovery with interviews, memorials, album notes, and sharp transitions from one sound to the next.

About Esto Sí Suena
Esto Sí Suena is a Spanish-language music discovery program with the discipline of old-school radio and the curiosity of a regional culture desk. It keeps moving. Songs are introduced with names, places, production details, and quick editorial framing, so each track feels less like an isolated recommendation and more like a point on a wider musical map. Caracas is a recurring center of gravity, but the route rarely stays there for long. Recent episodes move through Venezuela, Colombia, Mexico, Argentina, Peru, the UK, and the United States, tying local scenes to international releases and older references without flattening the differences between them. The show can mourn a figure like Bill Withers, note the shadow of COVID-19, and still keep its ear on new music. It can also make space for Aretha Franklin, Pink, Bob Dylan, Cat Power, Dry Cleaning, Westside Cowboy, and Latin American indie artists in the same editorial current. Short bridges do a lot of work. They explain why a song matters, where it comes from, who made it, and what kind of emotional or sonic turn it represents before the next pivot arrives. The interview episodes add another gear. Alberto Vargas speaks about Okills as a live, communal, singable band; the conversation around Los Mentas brings in reunion, migration, friendship, rough humor, and the charged memory of Caracas nights. The episode on Los Souls broadens the frame again, using Micro TDH and Juan Carlos Figueredo to connect hip-hop, film production, acting, Super 8 texture, cellphone footage, and the Academy circuit. Esto Sí Suena is not built around loose celebrity chat. Its best moments come when commentary, scene memory, and artist testimony are braided into a compact route through music that might otherwise slip past mainstream radio.
Made for: For Spanish-speaking listeners who want music discovery with names, places, credits, and a sense of why each track belongs in the conversation. It especially suits fans of Latin American indie, Venezuelan music culture, and radio-style interviews.
What sets it apart: Esto Sí Suena connects songs to geography, production choices, festival memory, migration, cinema, and artist testimony instead of treating releases as disposable playlist entries. Its Caracas-rooted perspective gives international music coverage a distinct local intelligence.
