Entrevistas

Entrevistas is a Spanish-language interview program with the texture of local morning radio and the patience of a community meeting. It stays close to place. Recent conversations move through La Calera, La Cruz, Quillota, El Melón, Valparaíso, Olmué, Casablanca, and the surrounding province with a steady interest in how public issues land in ordinary life. The show does not rush its guests. Questions often arrive with context, and the answers are allowed to stretch into explanation, memory, warning, or advice. That shape suits its subjects. Miguel Núñez Mercado, described as a reporter for more than 30 years of Diario El Observador, writer, and researcher of the history of the peoples, turns La Calera into a story of characters, immigrant communities, difficult beginnings, and remembered streets. Pamela Enríquez brings a more technical register, translating a frontal system into practical concerns about wind, coastal conditions, inland flooding, electrical storms, hail, and the timing of rain. The show can be intensely useful. Dr. Pablo Tapia Urrejola explains the winter campaign through vaccination, respiratory care, hospital preparation, and hygiene. Andrea Poblete speaks about hormonal changes, adolescence, pregnancy, menopause, and the value of professional guidance over social-media anxiety. Other episodes work at the scale of the household. María Angélica Rojo discusses eggs, small agricultural production, rising prices, and the details of selling directly from El Melón. Civic interviews give mayors and politicians room to connect local needs with larger systems, as in Filomena Navia Hevia’s discussion of free student buses and Francisco Chahuán’s reflections on Croatia, Morocco, ports, exports, and Chilean diplomacy. Culture is part of the same public fabric. Shirley Collao Bugueño’s account of The Move Dance Movimiento returning from Brazil with 38 trophies becomes a story about young dancers, long rehearsals, international competition, and recognition for La Calera. Entrevistas is best for listeners who value specificity: names of towns, exact worries, practical advice, and the slow accumulation of local context. It treats community information as something worth hearing in full.
