Coders Campus Podcast is Trevor Page's show about the stretch between learning to program and working as a programmer. Page introduces himself as the founder of the Coders Campus brand, with about 15 years of programming and 12 years of teaching people to code behind him. He speaks from what he has seen learners run into. The format goes two ways. On his own, Page is loose and candid, and one episode has him welcoming listeners back along on a cloudy morning walk. On that walk he names imposter syndrome as the most common problem he sees. He says it hits first as a learner gets close to being job-ready and starts asking why anyone would hire them. Another solo episode, 'What Happened to the Bootcamp, Why AI Changed Everything, and What's Next', is a check-in after he had been away for about a year or more, and he calls it a rant. In it he describes coding with AI by talking into a dictation tool, Whisper Flow, which turns his spoken rambling into something a language model can work with. He points to the Coders Campus YouTube channel for a live look at that workflow. The interviews bring the variety. Alex moved from data entry into tech, plays drums and guitar, and is the subject of 'Alex almost quit coding forever while in this Bootcamp'. Her conversation gets specific about learning. Page describes picturing code flowing between files in a debugger, and she pinpoints method parameters as the place she lost the thread. Jeff Podmayer spent weeks at a time guiding teenagers through the mountains before turning to tech. He describes treating the bootcamp as full time, at about 30 hours a week, and looking forward to applying what he has learned to the projects being worked on in meetings. Tony Edmonds took the conventional four-year computer science degree, and his episode is titled 'From Struggling University Comp Sci Grad to Employed Coder - Tony Edmonds'. That conversation takes a detour through a social work hiring example to show how many applicants miss simple requirements. In 'Unlocking Your First Coding Job: The Realities and Solutions', Page sets out a guaranteed internship program inside the Coders Campus bootcamp, begun at the start of August 2024. Learners join a team with five to eight others to build real software that customers have paid for, guided by a senior-level person, currently Page himself. For a starting point, the Jeff Podmayer episode suits someone weighing a bootcamp, and the Tony Edmonds episode suits a degree holder who feels stuck. Page signs off with an open invitation to email him, saying he has a very thick skin, and a parting 'happy learning'.
