Chad Damord FM

Chad Damord FM sits at the intersection of Montreal radio, music discovery, and community conversation. It carries the warmth of a live studio rather than the polish of a tightly edited interview show. The format gives guests room. A typical exchange begins with welcome, applause, a personal connection, or a concrete story, then slowly works toward the larger point behind it. Music is the anchor. Hip-hop, rap, Afro, R&B, compas, and live performance appear not just as genres but as shared language for artists, producers, and listeners. The Unplugged Radio episode with Dee Joyce captures the show at its most celebratory, with a live audience, piano-radio performance dreams, and the feeling of an artist stepping into a milestone moment. The Naisha Azor conversation is more studio-centered. It follows the making and reaction to “Demande-moi pourquoi,” with Gelicat, Top Line, and Young Slate helping describe the mix of Afro, compas, voice, and instinct that made the song connect online. The Carel Padre episode broadens the frame. It moves through Haitian media, public visibility, the earthquake aftermath, and the strange responsibility of becoming reachable when communication is breaking down elsewhere. The Francois Bertho conversation brings the same grounded curiosity to style, custom clothing, and why a timeless suit can matter more than a trend. Across these episodes, the show is less interested in quick celebrity polish than in how people build things, respond to attention, and carry culture through their work. It is friendly, repetitive in the useful radio way, and comfortable letting a guest explain the long version. That patience is part of the appeal. Chad Damord FM suits listeners who want music talk with lived experience attached, especially around Montreal’s Haitian and Afro cultural scenes.
