About Art Juice: A podcast for artists, creatives and art lovers

Art Juice is a long-running art conversation series built around the real conditions of creative practice. Alice Sheridan and Louise Fletcher are named voices in the excerpts, and their conversations move easily between artwork, workspaces, travel, teaching, business, home life, and the emotional cost of change. The show has a loose, generous rhythm. It can begin with a Bali retreat, a missing podcast archive, or plasterers arriving ahead of schedule, then arrive at something sharper about attachment, studio identity, and the relief of letting old things fall away. Practical subjects get treated as psychological subjects too. Studio organisation is not only about shelves and messy zones; it is about what belongs near the work, what distracts from it, and what has to be released in service of the next direction. Guest conversations add range. Sally-Ann Ashley talks with Louise about developing ideas, nurturing focus, experimenting, and accepting the raw stages of a painting practice. Darren Todd brings in community, murals, public art, collaboration, streetcar artwork, and the idea of art larger than the private self. Annie Tempest’s episodes carry another kind of freedom, moving through cartoons, Tottering by Gently, sculpture, painting, pressure, and the search for joy inside a demanding creative life. Sara Dalrymple’s sales conversation treats selling as something artists can shape in a more personal, less awkward way. Carleen Bronner’s story brings urgency, illness, courses, and creative momentum into the frame. The appeal is not polish. The appeal is candour. Episodes often sound like a studio door left open while two thoughtful artists figure something out in real time, with jokes, interruptions, domestic details, and serious points sitting side by side. Art Juice suits artists who want company through uncertainty as much as instruction. It is especially strong on the middle of the process: the experiments, unfinished rooms, doubts, overfull studios, brave pivots, and small recognitions that eventually change the work.

Made for: Art Juice is for working artists, aspiring creatives, teachers, painters, makers, and art lovers who enjoy reflective studio conversation. It especially suits listeners interested in the emotional, practical, and business realities behind a creative life.

What sets it apart: The show stands out for its mix of candid studio talk, ordinary-life tangents, and serious reflection on creative growth. It makes space for clutter, doubt, selling, public work, reinvention, and letting go without turning any of it into a neat formula.

In their own words

As heard by us

Based on 5 episodes we listened to · September 2026

Art Juice connects creative decisions to studios, income, collaboration and the difficult business of letting imperfect work exist.

Art Juice treats an artist's working life as a chain of choices: how to develop an idea, accept an imperfect painting, arrange a studio or release work and possessions that no longer help.
