Two Ruhrpott hosts, all tangent, no plan
The gist
Bastian Bielendorfer and Reinhard Remfort record a weekly German-language conversation that starts with a greeting and ends up somewhere unplanned. Adventskalender licorice, Irish stereotypes, Chuck Norris cameos and American tariffs all get the same treatment: interruption, exaggeration, and an actual opinion underneath the joke.

About Alliteration Am Arsch
Alliteration Am Arsch is a German-language weekly comedy podcast hosted by Bastian Bielendorfer and Reinhard Remfort, with more than 400 episodes behind it. The format is two people talking, fast, over each other, in no particular direction. Episodes open with an overblown welcome - a Valentine's Day greeting to Reinhard Rose Remford, a Palm Sunday entrance staged as a triumphal arrival - and the joke immediately collapses into the next thing. What follows is a chain of detours. A shared licorice advent calendar leads to a memory of the old screw-in Christmas tree stands that took an hour to level, and to the childhood ritual of a living room locked for a day or two so the presents could appear on their own. A week visiting family in Dublin becomes a stubborn question about why the Irish are imagined as small and red-haired, and whether a week among tourists proves anything at all. A conversation about Sylvester Stallone gathering three decades of action stars into the Expendables films - Harrison Ford jumping out of a helicopter, actors booked for a single day and given nothing to do - ends in a sincere aside that Chuck Norris, jokes aside, was genuinely gifted at martial arts. The show does not stay light. One episode works through how celebrities end up in photographs beside people later revealed as criminals, and where the line sits between being present and having known. Another turns to American politics with open frustration: a president who promised no new conflicts and lower prices, set against tariffs, an egg crisis and food costs that went the other way. The register stays blunt, sarcastic and impatient with polish, but the jokes usually open onto a real position rather than replacing one. There is a business strand too, unusually frank. One host describes what it is like to perform to a two-thirds empty hall, why smaller southern German dates do not get booked, and how many other people lose money when a night underperforms. Live recordings from Frankfurt run in multiple hour-long parts, with audience questions repeated from the stage so listeners at home can follow. Production is casually acknowledged rather than hidden - editing chores, a Chris called on mid-episode to fix something, a slip about a second season being teased before it should have been. Sign-offs are warm and silly, with rhyming farewells and a running line about never laughing below one's own level. Listeners should expect German throughout, occasional advertising segments and trailers for other shows, and a duo who treat comfort with each other as the whole premise.
Made for: German-speaking listeners who want a long, loose comedy conversation rather than a tightly produced format, and who enjoy hosts who interrupt, correct and argue with each other. Suits fans of 1980s childhood nostalgia, cultural complaint and blunt takes on news and media.
What sets it apart: The detours are the show: a licorice advent calendar or an action-movie cameo gets the same running time as tariffs or the ethics of a photograph, and the two hosts move between silly and serious without smoothing the seam. Live Frankfurt recordings and candid talk about the economics of touring add a behind-the-scenes layer most comedy duos leave out.
In their own words
Du möchtest Werbung in diesem Podcast schalten?
