Listen to the show on

Comics news with creator access and fan-table chaos.

The gist

AIPT Comics keeps pace with the weekly comics churn: news, favorite books, creator interviews, and the arguments that happen between them. It is loose, nerdy, and quick to turn a headline into a superhero debate or a joke about casting Wolverine.

About AIPT Comics

AIPT Comics covers comic books with the speed and looseness of fans who have too much to say before the week’s stack changes again. It is a comics-news and review show, but its real identity sits in the collision between weekly reactions and creator interviews. The show recaps major headlines. It reviews favorite comics. Then it wanders, cheerfully and sometimes absurdly, into the side questions that make comics fandom feel alive: who should play Wolverine, what age the X-Men should be, why a premise works, or what makes a page finish different from rough storytelling. Recent episodes show a wide lane. Absolute Green Arrow becomes a conversation about a darker superhero setup, horror instincts, and a billionaire-killing premise. Franklin Jonas appears around Fireborn and Lost Fantasy, with discussion of music as a tool for writing comics. Timmy Haig brings the retail angle, talking Lost Fantasy, variant covers, owning two comic shops, and moving from selling comics into writing them. American Caper opens the door to editing, finishing, Dark Horse production, and what happens when a book’s characters are disasters by design. Steve Orlando gets room for a broad, energetic interview across Scarlet Witch, Valiant Beyond, Deadweight, Boom horror stories, Dragula Titans, and more. Grant Sandground brings a surprising detour into SkyBox Metal Universe Batman and modern trading-card culture. The show is not trying to sound neutral from a great distance. It reacts. It jokes. It corrects itself midstream and keeps going. That makes the interviews feel less like press stops and more like conversations with readers who already have opinions. There is plenty of superhero material, especially Marvel and DC, but the feed also keeps space for indies, horror, comedy, card collecting, and creator career paths. The result is accessible insider chatter: casual enough to feel like a comics hang, but connected enough to bring in people directly involved with the work.

Made for: For comics readers who follow weekly releases, superhero casting, creator interviews, and the weird side channels of comics culture. It especially suits fans who like informed coverage with jokes, tangents, and strong reactions.

What sets it apart: AIPT Comics pairs weekly review banter with unusually broad creator and industry conversations, from shop retail and page finishing to music-driven writing and trading-card culture. It feels more reactive and conversational than a polished news desk.

In their own words

An exploration of the comic book art form via weekly insights, news, and creator interviews. Covering it all from Marvel Comics and DC Comics to indies publishers and creators too.

Why you'd press play

A broken jaw becomes panel craft, then a creator interview takes over the room.

Press play if you want

  • creators explaining how voice, genre, and collaboration actually work
  • comic picks argued down to costumes, fight choreography, and gloriously strange panels
