Adam Richard Has A Theory

Adam Richard Has A Theory is a fast, familiar companion for Doctor Who viewers who like the show best when it is being fussed over in detail. The format is small, but the attention is intense. Recent episodes move through The Dalek Master Plan, The Story and the Engine, Lucky Day, and preview talk around The War Between the Land and the Sea. Old serials are treated with the same urgency as new release schedules. A rediscovered episode can set off thoughts about reconstruction styles, narrated audio versions, and the uncanny experience of watching half-lost television rebuilt from fragments. That archival interest never becomes dry. The commentary stays close to the odd physical comedy of the programme, from plant-like aliens to performers making committed choices about how an alien should walk. Modern episodes get a different kind of pressure. Lucky Day is approached as a story that asks questions about viewers, escapism, and the real-world concerns that leak into the show. The Story and the Engine brings mythology, folklore names, the barber, Belinda, and Matt's Massive Missive into the frame. The show is comfortable sounding puzzled. That is part of its appeal. Instead of flattening Doctor Who into certainty, it lets confusion become comic, critical, and sometimes revealing. Spoilers, release timing, internet rumours, Reddit reactions, and possible AI fakery also matter here because they shape how fans actually encounter the programme. The Australian viewing position adds another practical wrinkle, especially when UK-only access and staggered release windows complicate reactions. The register is loose and intimate without needing studio polish. It can be silly, pointed, grateful, distracted, and unexpectedly tender in the same run. Listeners get fan theory as lived experience: half recap, half group chat, half archive expedition, which is exactly the kind of arithmetic Doctor Who often seems to invite.
