410 Sports Talk

410 Sports Talk is a Baltimore Ravens show that happens out loud and in real time. Co-hosts Glenn Martin and James Haskell talk through the team's news on a live stream. DK helps out in the background, and the hosts greet and answer people in the chat as they go. The subjects follow the roster: coaching hires, trade news, game-week stakes and the draft. Titles such as 'Ravens ROUND OUT coaching staff with Doyle and Weaver' and 'Ravens need a LIFELINE win against the Texans | Week 5 Preview' show how wide it goes. The Maxx Crosby story shows the format at its best. With the report less than an hour old, the pair were on air reacting to Baltimore giving up this year's first-round pick and next year's to get him. Glenn Martin said he never thought this team would spend that kind of draft capital on any player. A second episode, 'Ravens back out of BLOCKBUSTER Maxx Crosby trade before deadline', comes after the deal fell apart over a failed physical. There the mood turns grave. The questions are about saving the offseason: whether a new Lamar Jackson contract could calm things down, and whether the reacquired picks could go after a receiver like Justin Jefferson instead. A viewer in the chat said they would not sleep that night, and one of the hosts said he would be thinking about it all night too. The draft coverage gets very detailed. Jason Pruitt of DraftPlex returns as a guest to go through the board with Glenn Martin, who runs those sessions without a co-host on the mic. They get specific: the need for interior line help, what a guard is worth at the 14th pick, Penn State's consensus top guard, and Spencer Fano as a lineman who might be able to play all five spots. When the chat asks about Jeremy Bernard, the answer is that he has no single standout trait but gets open and moves the chains, and that a high-end number two receiver may be his ceiling. Game-week episodes talk about betting odds, with FanDuel named as a sponsor. Before the Texans game the Ravens are slight underdogs but still favourites to win the division, and the hosts note with dry disbelief how disrespected Pittsburgh should feel. The same conversation turns to Lamar Jackson's absence and the hope that other players step up and get some swagger back. Side conversations are part of the show: a snowstorm that stopped being fun after a few days, the five stages of grief over a missed postseason, and a word of respect for Mike McDonald with the Super Bowl coming up. The talk is casual and fast, full of self-corrections and half-finished thoughts, but the football knowledge is real. What a listener gets is the Ravens argued over live by people who clearly care how it turns out.
