2025 Travel Year in Review: Best Travel Memories...and Embarrassing Moments

January 7, 2026·1 hr 5 min·4 clips
Snorkeling in the Galapagos turned into sea turtles, sharks, rays, marine iguanas, cormorants, penguins, and sea lions.
Chris and Kat begin with a small misunderstanding that turns one drink into four. From there, they settle into a favorite routine: looking back over the year through the trips and mistakes that stuck with them. Chris jokes that Kat usually comes out with fewer embarrassing moments. Kat pushes back, pointing to her own share of travel chaos, including a Uganda gorilla trek where a celebratory little kick ended with an immediate fall down a hill. The joke lands harder because the fall involved gorilla poop. Kat says the white safari shirt from that trip still has a small brown stain, and she still wears it anyway. That kind of self-owning humor carries through the whole episode. Kat’s favorite memory comes from a Versailles ball that felt like a fever dream from the start. She and Chris talk through it as if they are still trying to make sense of how the night unfolded. It began with fireworks and then turned into an all-night masked ball with champagne, dancing, and a lot of walking through the gardens. Water was available, but not free. Food was scarce for something that lasted that long, which made it feel even stranger. Kat loved the beauty of the setting and the chance to party in traditional attire. They also mention performances throughout the evening, which added to the sense that the whole night had been built around them. By the time they made it back to Paris at seven in the morning, breakfast in the gardens was mostly gone. The coffee was terrible, sleep came late, and the return to the Airbnb ended with Kat asleep until noon and starving. Even so, she still counts it as a great memory. The episode works because Chris and Kat keep comparing notes instead of trying to sand the stories down into something neater. Their banter stays warm, familiar, and a little goofy. Anyone who likes couples-travel chatter with real mishaps, specific details, and an affectionate sense of humor will feel right at home.

A travel recap where the mishaps land as hard as the highlights.

Worldwide Honeymoon keeps things loose, and that helps. Chris and Kat move from a Uganda gorilla trek that ends with actual gorilla poop to the white safari shirt that still carries the stain, and they tell it all with enough self-awareness to make the mess part of the fun.
