Wood Talk | Woodworking · The Wood Whisperer

563 – Jesus Cremona

·49 min·4 clips
Marc reveals an AI-generated Jesus image that looks just like Matt, leaving the hosts in disbelief.
Christmas ribbon gets treated like hardware. The shop talk starts in that sideways Wood Talk zone, where a sympathy gag somehow walks right into veneer, lamination, and hinge geometry. The idea is neat without getting precious. Cut the ribbon, lay it between veneer sheets, and keep everything on the same plane so the hinge tucks into the layup. Then the plywood logic kicks in. Cross laminating the veneer should give the little part some real strength, especially after lacquer or something similar goes over it. Someone calls it crafty. Fair enough. It is crafty, but it is also small-scale woodworking that solves an actual problem. The mood stays loose. Christmasy gets tossed around more than once, and nobody turns the trick into a clinic. Then Matt brings the sunroom update. The room is painted, the trim is in, and the leftover mess from paint prep still needs dealing with. The relief comes through. Before that finish work, the windows, framing, and raw sheet rock still made the space feel unfinished. They had moved furniture in around Thanksgiving to try the room, then pulled it back out for paint. Now the yard view and trim help the room feel like a room. Furniture still needs building, naturally. A finished room can always invent another shop project.

As heard by us

Practical shop talk, a holiday lamination project, and a slow start that eventually pays off.

Wood Talk settles into a familiar shop-floor rhythm, with a Christmas-ribbon lamination project and a sunroom finish-up giving the discussion its shape.
