Witches, Magic, Murder, and Mystery podcast examines the death of George Reeves, the actor who played Superman on The Adventures of Superman (1951-1958). Episode traces his background (adoption secret, family dysfunction), his meteoric rise to fame with Superman role, and subsequent typecast imprisonment that destroyed his career. By 1959, he was financially stressed, depressed, drinking heavily, and his relationship with fiancée Lenore Lemon was rocky. The night of his death, he went upstairs around 1:30-2 AM; Lenore allegedly predicted he would shoot himself moments before a gunshot was heard. Whether suicide or murder remains ambiguous.
