Werewolf the Podcast: A Serial (Killer) Drama · Fenrir & Greg

Werewolf the Podcast: Special Cell Mates. (Episode 247)

·35 min
Will is waiting. He sits in one of those fecking cold holding cells, with condensation running down painted concrete walls, a steel bench, and the faint smell of disinfectant failing to cover older, uglier smells. He scrolls classic cars on his phone, lands on a Jaguar E-type, and Fenrir, his invisible wolf soul stretched across the floor beside him, gives an approving mutter. Then Nisha is in front of him, and the job starts: it has to look like an accident, bruises are supposed to stay limited, and there is no time to make a meal of it. It goes badly. Will grabs the man by the throat, lifts him bodily off his feet, and slams his head into the edge of the steel bench. Bonk. It does not finish the job. Nisha screams, Will has to re-grab him, and the room turns into a grim little fight with blood, panic, and Fenrir laughing at how stubborn the target is. Will keeps having to adjust the damage, as if arguing with the body itself over how much punishment it will take before it finally gives up. Then Lucifer appears, leaving behind the scent of burnt sugar, and tells Will that he does not win so much as change the game. That lands. Will brightens at the challenge, and by the end the cell feels less like an ending than the first move in something larger, with hell waiting outside and Will already leaning into the next round.

As heard by us

A freezing cell turns a botched killing into dark, filthy pressure.

Will's cold holding-cell wait plays like a grim, darkly funny standoff. He scrolls auction listings for a Jaguar E-type while Fenrir barks abuse from the floor, and the killing keeps refusing to land cleanly.
