Episode 547- The Mummy (1999) ft. Everyone's Cousin Vicky

January 19, 2026·1 hr 20 min·4 clips
Vicky returns as a recurring guest, immediately establishing her comedic rapport with the hosts.
Vicky returns as the guest and the room lights up around her. They welcome her with fake solemnity and then immediately start accusing her of using ChatGPT for her persuasive essay. From there the conversation jumps to rainforests, bugs, howler monkeys, and an ongoing hatred of anything that feels too lush. A joke about cancer, volcanoes, and saying terrible things just because they sound funny sends the whole thing further off the rails. After that opening blast, the episode lands on *The Mummy*. Evelyn's sheer veil gets noticed right away, and the hosts track her search for the Book of Amun-Ra through the movie's adventure machinery. Her brother's treasure obsession becomes a running target because he is already rich, which turns into a bigger joke about rich people never being satisfied. Jeff Bezos gets dragged as the perfect example of endless accumulation, and his ex-wife and charitable giving get folded into the bit as well. The show keeps finding comedy in the movie's American swagger. Guns, cowboy posturing, and the confidence of the Americans all get mocked. The hosts also side-eye the film's colonial setup hard, especially the part where it treats Native Americans like they are just part of the backdrop. The conversation keeps snapping back and forth between plot recap and whatever side rant the scene unlocks. That rhythm is exactly why the episode works. It never tries to sound controlled. It just keeps moving, interrupting itself, and laughing at the movie until the movie gives up. By the end, they are already talking about a rom-com next year and another guest spot on *Godawful Movies* elsewhere.
